I know a prince my self. I have him on wats app right now so if anyone talks about his family I will notify him. :butcher:

Disgusting. Pakistanis don't care about animals?

I find this very strange. Killing 2100 Houbara Bustards? For what reason exactly? Do you eat those birds or what? Are their feathers very expensive? I am asking because I am completely ignorant on this field.

Hunting them is considered good sport since these birds have great stamina and unlike Siberian cranes, they don't follow same path every year.

Anyway, Since Pak Gov had issued permit, Saudi's have no responsibility, either moral or legal for this massacre.

Well, I have no idea what that prince was thinking or what the Pakistani government was thinking when they allowed this to happen.

Many Arabs believe that its meat is an aphrodisiac. (Same reason why many Chinese people pay for tiger testicles and rhino soup.)

Houbara Bustards Are Dying Because of the Myth That Their Meat Has Aphrodisiac Qualities

Apparently he was high on something...couldnt stand seeing 2k birds flying around...Someone should have shot him "accidentally" of course! :agree:

Or maybe he was using a machine gun and his hand got stuck on the trigger ..
Oops

I have no idea?!

I just know that the late crown prince did a lot of awesome work protecting the Houbara Bustard in KSA and other Arab countries as well as in Pakistan.

The one mentioned in this article is this person:

Is the damage not done by the Saudis at International level?

They said that hunting of the internationally protected bird was banned in Pakistan also, but the federal government issued special permits to Gulf states’ royals.

Permits, which are person specific and could not be used by anyone else, allow the holders to hunt up to100 houbara bustards in 10 days in the area allocated, excluding reserved and protected areas.

Says it all!

@al-Hasani

Many hunters are nuts, I know some who hunts tens of birds in one trip, its a sick addiction.

Just get rid of these medieval royals, I think you're probably more cultured and smart then some 50 of them, such people are just wasting the potential.

First time I hear this. But then again I am no expert when it comes to hunting. Been on plenty of hunting trips back home though. But we hunted bigger animals than birds. Nothing wrong with legal hunting that is done during the hunting season. Illegal poaching is a crime though.

There are plenty of highly educated and cultivated members of House of Saud. Many more than the opposite. This man that did this is himself highly educated.
Besides we have high regard for our rulers and I would not change them with any regional rulers.

Hunters are good people overall. A few bad apples exist everywhere.

@al-Hasani

Some might be intelligent, some not, you can't control who gets the chair thats the point, no place is flawless but I can't think of myself accepting the fact of leaving the future of country to a family that somehow got the power at some point of history.

Money talks. As we say in Urdu ''paisa phaikh, tamasha daikh''.

On these lines, you endorse with Whale hunters of japan and Iceland just by terming them as bad apples??
Then what would be left over in the world WRT endangered specie?

Fir Insaniyat aur Islamiyat kahan miya?

I could only wonder what would have happened if such a thing ever happened in India!!BTW a question to my Pakistani brothers- I know most of u are as disgusted as I am at this report and wildlife assets belong to the Global community and not not to any individual or nation state.But what is all this romance with these Saud's all about?It's a well known fact that these Arabs after managing to accumulate obscene amounts of wealth owing to their newly found oil resources looks down upon Pakistanis and take them for granted (No offense pls) despite all friendly gestures from Pakistan.And now they are coming into your territory with the knowledge and permission of your establishment and are killing your protected species and everyone is being silent. Pls wake up

These birds should have attacked him like they did in the movie "The Birds"...by Hitchcock

Well your ancestors did not complain when what is now Turkey was ruled by Greeks, Armenians, Arabs, Persians and later different Turkic dynasties and the Ottomans.

Anyway this prince has nothing to do with the very highest circles of the government.

What are you talking about? Endorsing what? I am just telling you not to go full retard because of a few bad apples. By far the vast majority of hunters do not behave in this way. All I am trying to get across.

Not sure where whales, Iceland or Japan came into the picture.
