Former Pakistani ISI chief Hamid Gul appeared on the Alex Jones Show yesterday and shared his contention that the 9/11 attack was an inside job, laying out details that were censored during a CNN interview on the same subject last weekend.

Gul served as the director general of Pakistan’s Inter Services Intelligence during 1987-89 and worked with the CIA in the covert war against the Soviets in Afghanistan, helping to train the U.S.-backed mujahideen.

During the CNN interview on Sunday, host Fareed Zakaria attacked Gul and claimed his opinions on 9/11 were “thoroughly discredited,” but the majority of the evidence he presented for 9/11 being a false flag attack was edited out by CNN bosses.

No such censorship took place during the interview yesterday as Gul got in depth on why he considered 9/11 to be a staged event.

Gul said that he first went public on who he thought was behind 9/11 UPI two weeks after the attacks, but that the report was blocked by the western news media.

The UPI interview with Gul remains online and in it he questions the delayed response to the hijackings by the U.S. Air Force.

“9/11 took place on American soil, not a single person has been caught inside America even though for doing such a job I think a huge amount of logistic support is required in the area where such an operation is carried out,” Gul told the Alex Jones Show, adding that fighter jets were scrambled in the opposite direction to where the hijacked planes were heading as the attack unfolded.

“It is quite amazing that for a very long period of time the air traffic control did not report this nor did the U.S. Air Force act in time,” said Gul, noting that fighters were scrambled from bases further away than where the hijacked planes were.

“The time that it took was enormous, it was 120 minutes, a very long time in which to act – was the U.S. Air Force sleeping and if it was sleeping which heads were rolled?” asked Gul, adding that if the botched response was a mere intelligence failure then why was nobody disciplined or taken to task and why had nobody resigned.

“The air traffic control should have been re-hashed, it should have been turned inside out, but nothing of the sort happened,” said Gul.

Gul then questioned why standard operating procedure was not followed, stating, “In the past within minutes the U.S. aircraft has been on the wing of the hijacked aircraft, in this case it did not happen, the U.S. alert system is so high and it is so sophisticated that if a missile was to take off from Moscow and was to head towards New York, the U.S. Air Force and the missile system is supposed to intercept it within nine minutes….the system is in place but it did not work and nobody tried to question this.”

Gul then highlighted the implausible proficiency of alleged Flight 77 lead hijacker Hani Hanjour, who according to his flight instructors could barely fly a Cessna yet supposedly pulled off maneuvers that crack military pilots would have difficulty achieving in order to hit the Pentagon.

“The height (of the plane) was 9,000 (feet) and it came within seconds to a height of 1,000 and then went straight into its target, this is not possible for a person who has been trained on a light aircraft to be able to do this,” said Gul.

Gul said that he routinely confronts American journalists about why they do not probe into 9/11, and that they respond by telling Gul that the Patriot Act gets in the way and they are “not supposed to ask such questions”.

Gul said that as a result of 9/11 “everything has gone wrong with the world” and the motive behind the events being staged were largely geopolitical, and were used to exploit a window of opportunity for the U.S. to go into strategic areas where there was no U.S. presence before, as well as beating China in dominating the energy tap of the world, the middle east and south Asia.

Gul joins a raft of former government officials and intelligence heads in questioning 9/11, the most recent of which was former Italian President Francesco Cossiga, who last December said that the attacks were carried out by elements of the CIA and Mossad.

9/11 was definitely an inside job.

The hysteria and hostility which attracts anybody who dares to question the offiicial version, combined with the fascist patriotism barrier erected around the whole episode, means that very little honest investigation has been conducted on the event.

9/11 was an inside job for what....

To attack Afghanistan... Oh is Afghanistan a rich country or Afghanistan has some thing which US needs.

What was the reason for doing so?

Just like questioning the Holocaust is one big hell of a crime. :)

Just Google it, you will find dozens of conspiracy theories giving the possible explanations or answers to your Why.

After reading them its up to you, how and what you infer and come up.

you can find the answer in your own post....

Hamid Gul is one of the chief Jihadi/TTP supporters and has been accused of helping the Taliban and Al Qaeda in recent years.

He is a classic example of a reverse-indoctrinated ex-military officer. He would rather support the jihadi thugs he nurtured over the years, who are now out to destroy the very State he had originally sworn to protect!

His moronic conspiracy theories like the one mentioned in this thread should be taken with a truck of salt.

Ms, i did not asked the question to which i have to look into my own post to get the answer.

I know the answer and that is not based on conspiracy theories but on some logical things which a mind having some common sense can easily understand by reading things, watching things and then infer from them by analyzing logically.

So am not in need of the answers, it was U. Just gave a suggestion to do some good amount of reading and then infer if you like from it and see if you come to a different conclusion or the same one as it is right now.

you ever heard abotNWO? well that was apart of their agenda

The topic of 911 has been discussed extensively on all sorts of forums over the past 8 years. However, I am afraid that owing to the environment created, both inside and outside the US, a serious, wholistic and independant debate which captures and addresses the key questions of the various stakeholders has not been forthcoming.

In my view, the first steps of a change have come not from Robert Fisk, Noam Chompsky, Micheal Moore or from Mr. Hamid Gul but from Pakistan's unacclaimed journalist Saleem Safi in the form of the recent Sepmtember 11 - Special Program available on youtube.

Hats off to Saleem Safi and everyone behind this programme for bold, unbiased and factual journalism. Please watch and as encouraged by the programme, decide for yourself using your powers of deduction, rather than rely on foregone conclusions presented by others who usually have some sort of underlying agnda.

If you don't believe in new world order etc, fair.
But, there is a reason beyond those "Conspiracy Theories". USA, in every decade has fought one major battle. Each US president has tried his best to come out as the savior or hero of America. Why USA has sought battle always? It is because there is huge industry in USA of arms. This industry can only survive on conflicts and wars. In order to maintain economy, it is most important for USA to fight a war. It has been fighting wars since WW1 and will continue to do so.

Oh spare us your rubbish.

None of the TTP leadership were trained by the Pakistan Army during Soviet Jehad. You think suicide bombers and kids recruited by the TTP to carry out terrorist activities in Pakistan were trained by the PA during jehad against the Soviet? how idiotic and groundless is this assertion. If the TTP were lets suppose trained by PA and ISI, they wouldn't be fighting such a lousy war with no spirit or determination, apparently run and retreat has become a thing of those cowards
Compare them with the Afghan Talibs who are giving teh americans one hell of a time

Hamid Gul is the only Retd principled General in the PA that openly exposes American imperialist agenda in the region. he understands the sort of economic religous and ideological forces behind the WOT. Obama's AFPAk (why Pak?) theatre of war is enshrouded with a mysterious campaign against Pakistan which are coming to slowing becoming realities. You can deny these all you want, continue your crusade against Pak, and chose to live on a fools paradise

Hamid gul and his fanciful conspiracy theories are the stuff of legend. Need I to say anymore about him and his theories.

haha - thanks for the comic 'alice in wonderland' account - very entertaining.

What you need is a reality check. :)

Sunday, December 2008

ISLAMABAD: A secret US document, marked as releasable to the Government of Pakistan, has linked former Inter-Services Intelligence chief Lt-Gen (retd) Hamid Gul to the Taliban and al-Qaeda networks.

The two-page unsigned document had already been provided to the government, a knowledgeable source revealed to The News here on Saturday on condition of anonymity.

He said Gul had been charged in the paper with providing financial assistance to Kabul-based criminal groups and involvement in spotting, assessing, recruiting and training young men from seminaries.

The recruits are reportedly trained for attacks on the US-led coalition forces in Afghanistan. The ex-general, according to the source, has been accused of assisting the Taliban and al-Qaeda fighters in developing high-tech weapons.

In Washington, the State Department Deputy Spokesman Robert Wood had declined to comment on earlier reports that such a list had been sent to the UN. If we decide to send names, we will let the media know, he responded to a question on the subject on Thursday.

But the document seen by The News reveals the US had sent the name of Lt-Gen Hameed Gul to the Government of Pakistan.

Gul is one of the five retired ISI officials whose names Washington has recommended to the UN Security Council for inclusion in the list of international terrorists. When contacted by this scribe, Gul laughed off the charges which, according to him, are simply hilarious. He promised to come up with a para-wise response to the charges levelled against him on Sunday or Monday.

As per the paper, his name is spelled as Lieutenant General (retired) Hamid Gul, Hameed Gul and Haimid Gul.

His passport number, according to the document, is BA479001. Lieutenant General (retired) Hamid Gul was Director-General of Pakistan’s Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) from 1987-1989.

Hamid Gul has maintained extensive contacts over the years with Taliban and al-Qaeda operatives located in Pakistan, providing financial support and encouragement to these groups.

It claimed: In 2005, Hamid Gul provided general, over-arching guidance to the Taliban leadership on operational activities in Afghanistan.

In 2008, Hamid Gul was in contact with the militant group Tehrik-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) and its leadership, including Baitullah Mahsud, and provided the TTP leadership and operatives with guidance on the conduct of militant operations in the Afghanistan-Pakistan border region.Since at least 2005, the paper says, Hameed Gul has also provided financial and material support to the Taliban and has supported militant training camps in the Afghanistan-Pakistan region. As of late 2006, Gul allegedly directed a Taliban operative to head a militant training camp.

Hamid Gul was a regular contact for Sirajuddin Haqqani and regularly apprised Sirajuddin of Pakistan government activity in the Federally Administered Tribal Areas (FATA),the document continues.

Haqqani is a top Taliban commander, added to the UN 1,267 Committee consolidated list of individuals and entities associated with al-Qaeda or the Taliban on September 13, 2007. He was named specially designated globalterrorist pursuant to EO 13224 on March 11, 2008.

As of early 2007, Gul was involved in spotting, assessing, and recruiting young men from various Pakistani Madrassas for training in eventual attacks against US-led coalition forces in Afghanistan. The training consisted of techniques for laying mines, arson and suicide bombings. As of late 2006, Gul was also involved in the training camps.

In late 2006, Gul provided money to a Kabul-based criminal group for every International Security Assistance Force (ISAF) member that the group kidnapped and turned over to the Taliban.

In addition to these kidnapping-for-ransom activities, this criminal group sold weapons and explosives to the Taliban and acted as travel facilitators for Taliban members in Afghanistan.

Gul was on the board of directors of Umman Tameer-e-Nau (UTN), a non-governmental organisation formed to help the Taliban and al-Qaeda networks develop high-tech weapons, the paper charges.

The UN 1,267 Committee added the UTN to its consolidated list of individuals and entities associated with al-Qaeda or the Taliban on December 24, 2001.
