BJP chief claims English bad for India, triggers outrage

what if this Shiva who is also called rudra is different than rudra mentioned in rigveda which came first, if it was so simple as you say, researchers would have had no difficulty in concluding that rudra mentioned in rigveda is in deed Shiva.it's not about belief but about finding out what is what, there are many theories at present, as a believer you are free to stick to the version you think is more possible, I am mearlly pointing out that there are many theories and descriptions about the matter.

they are not some fake road side scholars, they know what their job, religion is not an issue when it comes to research and study.you don't need their certificate similarly they don't need your's.

Axel Michaels asserts that
Rudra was called Shiva for the first
time in the Śvetāśvatara Upanishad.

Please dont mind but let me ask you if you are a Hindu.Because if you are a non believer, we need not discuss it further.

And who is this Alex Michel to interpret the scriptures of Hinduism? What is his expertise? Are the vedas to be translated like a novel? Are they like a common prostitute whom everyone claims to know intimately? Will he assign any value to Bible's interpretation by a Hindu Pundit?

Vedas are not books of history, they are timeless divine words.

And instead of making all this Wikipedic efforts, it is better if you listen to the Rudram.

Om Namah Shivaya.

Err...what happened before that battle? He was replaced as the Guru of Sudas by Vashistha. Read the Rg veda...:) Never confuse later stories with the original.

The first 3 mandalas of the Rg veda ? Just Mandala 3 my man, just 3 . Btw, no Kshatriyas, no Brahmins then. All later.

Yup. Like all stories including his famous grand nephew, Rama :azn:...always good to keep that in mind.

 Keep doing that man, keep doing that. Must be tough to swallow, eh?

Its funny to watch you gather knowledge of Rig Veda from sporadic sources claim to knowledge of Hinduism.

Of the 21 Shakas of Rig Veda only 2 have survived rages of time and history. There are a total of 10 Mandala in the Rig Veda. I am referring to the first 3.

You are keen to limit Hinduism to only the Vedas........in fact only to the Rig Veda. You do not get to cherry pick and claim strawman victory.

I have already mentioned Vishwamitra in various other puranas that establish him as a Raja Rishi and later as a Brahma Rishi.....which was the original topic and that is proven.

Nowhere in Valmiki Ramayana does Vishwamitra become the Grand Uncle of Sri. Ramachandra. ...........are you deliberately trying to derail the conversation to save face ?

budda was as much hindu as jesus a jew and mohammed a pagan. lolz.
why this name calling? Did I hurt your feelings dear?

Buddha and Jesus were Hindu and Jew respectively.
They had no idea that their teachings would later go on to become a separate religion itself rather than what they were originally intended for that was to bring reformations or changes in the way their religion(in this case Hinduism and Judaism) was followed at that time.
While in case of Muhammad he completely gotten rid of pagan Arabic religious belief and knew very well that he was preaching a whole different religion rather that trying to reform his previous one so yes he wasn't a pagan.
And yes the last part of your previous post was a bit offensive even though I am not a religious kind of person
peace....

That was my point. Buddhism was there at the time Advaita was formulated. Upanishads had laid substantial grounds earlier but Adi Shankara's great success was building on much of what already existed in Buddhist thought and offering up an alternative to Nagarjuna's Sunyata.

Cant really be sure because the dating is on wobbly ground. In any case Brhdaranyaka Upanishad / Mandukya upanishad already says it all. and they all predate Buddha.

Buddha is considered avatar of vishnu by hindus, because hindus have this idea of accepting others as their own.

Not exactly......:) It's more complicated than that. Much more....enough to make you go :woot:

That must make it must hurt real bad then, shouldn't it ? Maybe you should give up Indian stuff (since your bark is infinitely worse than your bite:D) and try some Japanese.....Seppuku maybe...:azn:

 .............no I find it immensely amusing. ................... If only you had the same courage to declare your christian faith and open up your faith for public debate  ............. who is the real coward here ? :azn:

anybody can study and research about any religious text, if he has the right knowledge and skills, that's all I want to say.

I was just pointing that buddha might be of hindu origin, that does not change the fact that he specifically rejected prevalent hindu (or whatever name of hindu religion then). If current hinduism accepts buddha's position and accept him as vishnu's avatar, does not change that historic fact

Hindu philosophies was there MUCH before Buddhists was there.

Advaita was formulated by the study of all available Hindu Philosophies. Sri. Sankara later know as Sankaracharya was an exceptional scholar in Indian philosophies. .....stop selling snake oil to gullible hindus.

Religious texts cannot be "researched". They are highly metaphorical, at least the Hindu ones are, and require a proper context which is not available to a non Hindu. They cannot be read as books of history or as sociological sources as the Indologists are prone to doing. Even Hindus require proper training before interpreting scriptures.

No that cannot be done. The native Religion is best understood in the native language and to the people who are familiar with the native culture and civilization. They are all closely inter-linked. \

Else you end up with AIT.

It is, is it? Shocked?

There are a total of 10 Mandala in the Rig Veda. I am referring to the first 3.

....and I pointed out your mistake...:P

You are keen to limit Hinduism to only the Vedas........in fact only to the Rig Veda. You do not get to cherry pick and claim strawman victory.

It is the oldest. Any story with any personality that is present in the Rg veda pre-dates anything else that might come later. What is so difficult to understand there?

I have already mentioned Vishwamitra in various other puranas that establish him as a Raja Rishi and later as a Brahma Rishi.....which was the original topic and that is proven.

...and I have mentioned the original context. Proven !:)

Nowhere in Valmiki Ramayana does Vishwamitra become the Grand Uncle of Sri. Ramachandra. ...........are you deliberately trying to derail the conversation to save face ?

:omghaha:proves how much you know. I only said "Rama", what you just proved is you know nothing.... (how easily you walked into that one...).Go find out who Vishwamitra's grand nephew was before bothering me with your rubbish again.....(that is traditionally held, so it shouldn't be too difficult, even for you)

Maybe you should pause before issuing certificates again :azn:

what if I repackage a bit of christianity and call jesus as vishnu's avatar, will you accept so after 1000 years.
