Yes ^^

Now they will have

MI 28 - 40
MI 35 - 6 for training I think
KA 52 - around 10, 1 acting as the eyes/commander of a formation of MI 28
Apache - 24

I thought Iraq only needs around 30 of MI 28/Apaches.

The MI-35 might have been a mistake as mentioned in SSC. The KA-52 are squad leaders. Each 3-4 helcopters will be led by an KA-52.

Anyways some 75+ percent of the Russian helos have similar flight control and parts. Iraq needs much more than 30. I would say atleast 120 attack helo's considering the internal and Foriegn threats. But the 42 Mi-28NE, 24 Apaches, 8-10 KA-52 should put the heavy attack helicopters at about 75, with another 100+ light and medium attack Heli's. Should be perfect for the next few years.

Iraq will have one of the largest militaries in the ME along witH Turkey, Iraq, Iran, KSA and Egypt. Even a tiny state like Qatar has ordered 24 Apaches, so I don't think it will be much of the problem since each type will operate in a different region.

right now I think they should focus on Air-defence and Armed UAV's to deal with the threats. I'm afraid they won't have much to spend for advanced fighters after all these orders. Other than the F-16's...

And people say "WE" have a bad mix of equipment which is a "Logistical nightmare".

That aside, apaches are one helluva a chopper.

22 Apaches are to be operated by the RSAF, which has been operating it for ages, while the remaining 60 Appaches ,out of 82, are being operated by the RSLF.

Don't expect the navy to get its hands on any because they've got ~60 helicopters. But they will build their own Airforce wing though.

I am waiting for submarines to be included in Saudi navy soon

The new AH-Z Viper are designed for the navy, Apache not so much. Most militaries are allocating the Helicopters for Army Aviation rather than the Air force.

Another thing, The delivery date is probably wrong. There is no way Iraq will have trained personal within this time frame, unless they plan on loaning a few Apaches and get instructors to train inside Iraq instead.

I don't think that any counrty in the ME will be interested in going to war with Iraq. As far as my knowledge is concerned only Turkey was a bit hostile to Iraq, but still it won't take any military action.

Beside, there are only two countries in the ME which officially operate armed UAVs, no country will agree to sell their own armed UAVs.

We've been operating the PN's for more than 3 decades (;. Plus, The RSN is only interested in the German ones.

Well, the RSF has a conjoined operating units, so Yeah I hear you.

As for Iraq, I'm glad they went for the Apaches, it's the best, and Yes, it will take little bit of time for Iraq to operate them.

Armed UAV's are becoming widespread and popular, more and more countries are developing their own UAV's. China, Russia, South Africa are making some great progress in this field, although china stole some technology from Israel..

The Threats Iraq faces is not a foreign invasion, but rather proxy wars and attempts Starts a civil war. With a strong enough army, the internal anti-government movements will rethink 1000x before ever carrying arms, therefore Iraq will have a collateral and will be able to press its decisions in the region without having to fear internal threats.

Although it is already suicidal for any group to stand against the army face to face, proper air cover will decrease casualties by over 90%. Another problem is Using the Sunni-Shia tags for any movement the army makes. That will go away as well with a strong military.

Just economic benefits with KRG in which they are sometimes going against the Iraqi law.. for them that is less important then economic benefits, understandable even though it is not right. + Erdogan has some plans that go against the government, only nothing that will start a war I agree.
I view this equipment important to make the chance smaller of Iraq falling into proxy wars cause we are in the middle of Iran, Saudi arabia and Turkey, the chance of actual war is much smaller then proxy war for us today.

Nevermind alshawi already said what I said

Attack Helicopters are the most potent COIN vehicle to date, during the Houthi conflict in South KSA and Northern Yemen the Houthis called the Apache the "Black She-Devil الجنيه السودا", for the amount of kick a$$ it inflicted on them, an apache formation took out the entire Anti-Aircraft capabilities of Houthis within the first 48 hours of the conflict, all their AAAs and MANPADs locations got hellfired.

If I am to name the weapon the won us the Houthi conflict I would hands down say it was the Apaches.

Well,

Since you work in the RSAF I'd assume that you've been told about many stories which took place during the war. The game changin equipment is the Typhoon, dude it's a killing machine :pop:
