We shouldn't only improve conditions for our soldiers because they have the right to but also to improve their morale.

And that's not the only issue, most of these guys, was working, gaining money for their family in the civil life, when they are recruited, their familiy also have a hard time financially.

it's actually has some calculation like minimum wage minus some certain needs = 10£

I don't know man, state spends much for one regular, and gets nothing from him...

I did 6 months of service, fired G3 5 times, thats it, rest was guard duty and marching.

You were deployed at an artillery unit, not everyone can operate equipment as complex as a T155. What's important is that you've served your country even if it's just for 6 months. And you've received basic training.

Turkiye has a conscription system, and most of the conscripts go into the Army for infantry training since it is easier to train a soldier for 2 years duty than retraining a Pilot to fly a F-16.

Never knew conscripts get paid 10-20 Euros thats pretty shocking, I know you need 900 TL a month to live alright in Istanbul, less if you live in other cities or in the countryside.

Pakistani American, studied for a year in Istanbul.

Not the Turkish commandos!

You'll actually be surprised, unless they are in a active hostile environment/ behind enemy lines, they'll most likely be on base or being a bodyguard for some politician/ military officer.

Upon retirement, depending on years active and unit, many go into the private security field.

The armed forces takes care of everything for them, food, wearing and shelter. So nobody needs 900tl a month while serving.

Most forces do, but 10 Euros just for spending money is quite low.

But then again the whole point of conscription is to instill nationalism and promote camaraderie.
