BJP getting hammered in karnataka

seeing this monumental rise of regional parties I sometime feel that in future we will witness a Congress-bjp alliance at the centre against all the regional parties :P

WHY NOT???

This is INDIAN POLITICS mate.

It has witnessed the coming together of extreme LEFT & extreme RIGHT (of Political Spectrum) to form a GOVT.

Why can't a Center-LEFT & Center-RIGHT party join hands than??

when did extreme left and right joined to form govt?

It can Never ever happen due to difference in ideology.

they are too big to join hands with another big party. It will always be a big party at core.

when did extreme left and right joined to form govt?

The National Front fought the elections in 1989 after coming to an electoral understanding with Bharatiya Janata Party and the Communist Left Front that served to unify the anti-Congress vote. The National Front, with its allies, earned a simple majority in the Lok Sabha and decided to form a government. The Left Front (under E. M. S. Namboodiripad and Indrajit Gupta) and the BJP (under L. K. Advani) declined to serve in the government, preferring to support it from outside.

BJP was more Right Wing party in the early 90s than it is currently now.

Lot of rubbish. If the BJP had kept Yeddiyurappa, they probably would have given Congress even more seats. Contrary to what many believe ,you just can't add the votes Yeddy's party is getting & imagine that the BJP would have got it too if he had stayed. He got a lot of the anti-incumbency vote in his favour splitting the anti-BJP vote & hurting the Congress to some extent.

The BJP didn't have only Yeddy who was corrupt. It was a government steeped in corruption from head to toe barring a couple of honourable exceptions. Not like they got rid of corruption with Yeddy leaving. Good riddance to some terrible, terrible rubbish.

if you do know EVEN LITTLE BIT about elections Adding up seats is not the right method ,its about number of votes which lead to huge change.

Let say there are 1000 voters in an area.

350 favor congress,175 JDS,75 Independent and 400 anti congress votes.

When yedurrapa in bjp =400 , when out kjp =60 ,bjp=340

1 seat lost .

That's why we see that even after getting 1-2% + votes, some parties get to as many as 60-70+ seats.

However I'm not saying bjp was going to win BUT with yeddurappa they could have got around 70 odd seats
.

Sonia's master stroke has worked. It is no secret here in K'taka that Yeddiyurappa was promised protection from CBI, if he separated from BJP and formed his own party. And Yeddi did eat into BJP's seats in this election. Now CBI will never 'investigate' Yeddi's corruption charges as he turned party pooper for BJP. Mera Bharat Mahan...

In his initial reaction, Union Minister of Telecommunications Kapil Sibal said, “Looks like the BJP will meet the same fate in the 2014 General Elections. They will remain in third place in the General Elections as well.”

BJP will also lose in 2014: Kapil Sibal

Results of 2009 Elections:

First - Congress: 206 Seats.
Second - BJP: 116 Seats.
Third - SP: 23 Seats.

Gap B/W Second Largest & Third Largest = 93 Seats.

Now, i m wondering which is that party that will cover this gap of 93 seats to replace BJP as the Second Largest Party & push it down to Third Place.

As a Congressman, i can understand that Mr. Kapil Sibal wants his party to emerge the largest party AGAIN, but BJP pushed down to THIRD PLACE??

@Dillinger @samantk @anant_s Whats your take on the STATE OF MIND of Mr. Kapil Sibal?? :D

Yeddy's departure, mixed with the corruption scandals ( which was also started by Yeddy) has caused the incumbent govt to step down.

Congress has systematically with the help of ISI and Terrorists weakned the election commission, RAW, IB and army.

This win is attributed to following good implementation by congress:
Keeping elements of ISI in the election comission of india and tampering EVM machines
Getting 25% of M votes in tthe crucial scnerion where hindu votes are divided into 3 otherp arties
Birbing Arun suhsma and advani to not expose congress and help congress
Bribing arun sushma advani to give tickets to corrupt and weken the chances of BJP
Givign money to AAP to make people boycott election in metro in demand for right to reject

Its a complicated game as congress has atleast 10-200 lack crores of funds at its disposal.

If still RAW IB Army dont help RSS VHP BD to get BJP in order congress wil again make it in 2014.

Congress of 2014 is dangerous than Brisith of 1914 or Mugals of 1714.

Al thouse institution not helping dharma are naturalyl on the side of ISI and Jesh.
What a delusional idiot. Are you not the same guy who's suggesting bengalis are terrorists because they are not hardcore "Hindu" like you?

People deserve leaders like this ...

Bodyguards of actor Ram Charan Tej, son of Union Minister Chiranjeevi (a member of the Indian National Congress), assaulting software engineers — Phanish (whose shirt is torn) and Kalyan (who is being kicked) — for reportedly not giving way to the actor's Aston Martin at a free left turn near a traffic junction in Banjara Hills, Hyderabad

So the BJP deserves to win because the Congress has a leader with an idiot son.

This is unanswerable logic. Totally brilliant.

Kolar Block Congress President Babu arrested for threatening voters with Long (Macchu ) a weapon for killing at Poll Booth in Junior College.

This is before they are elected. What will be situation after the election if they are voted??

Again, the Congress possibly behaving like arseholes does not justify keeping in power the BJP which has already behaved like arseholes.

The result is more positive for BJP than most of Congress and BJP supporters are acknowledging.

Had BJP done better and succeeded in forcing a hung assembly, it would have given Yedurappa a political lease. The unilateral victory of congress has forced yeddy in corner . Either he has to return to BJP, retire or reach to some understanding with either congress or BJP.

Congress getting majority by itself has decreased the chances of a vote split in lok sabha elections.

@arp2041 what are your views regarding this?

Other than Maharashtra and Delhi which are economic powerhouse of India, only those states are doing good which has BJP's Government. Punjab, Gujrat, Madhya Pradesh, etc. Ofcourse with one exception.
