Syrian activists and state media say President Bashar Assad's forces have captured a strategic town near Damascus after a five-week battle with opposition forces.

A lawmaker from Turkey's pro-Kurdish Peace and Democracy Party (BDP) recently said the terrorist group is likely to announce its decision to withdraw from Turkey on Thursday. The withdrawal comes as part of talks between the Turkish government and PKK representatives launched last October to end the PKK's campaign of violence in Turkey's southeastern region, which has been going on for nearly three decades.

Iran has not made any official statement yet on the repercussions of the settlement process, but the Milliyet daily reported on Thursday that a senior Iranian diplomat has expressed his country's concern about the withdrawal.

PKK terrorists are expected to return to their respective countries within the scope of the settlement process. However, the diplomat reportedly said that Iran will not allow PKK terrorists of Iranian origin to come back to their country.

Iran's intelligence officer Kasım Süleymani offered a deal to PKK's Murat Karayılan , offering heavy weaponary and logistic support.
