Iran builds 35000 tons oil tanker ships.

It is not even that big, we are making a much bigger one for venezeula, it has a mass of 113000 tons.

ISOICO shipyard is capable of constructing any type of vessel up to about 4 x 80,000 DWT per year on its existing building berths mainly bulk carrier, containership and oil product carrier using advance technology, afterwards the constructing capability will increase for the vessel up to about 2 x 300,000 DWT VLCC or 2 x 140,000 m3 LNG carrier per year in addition to the existing capacity.[11]
Over the next two decades, Iran would need 500 new ships, including 120 oil tankers, 40 liquefied natural gas (LNG) carriers and over 300 commercial vessels.[12] In 2009, in a move aimed at further enhancing Iran's shipbuilding industry, President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad said he will ban the purchase of foreign ships by Iranian organizations.[5] The Ministry of Commerce has confirmed that Iran is able to build all its needed sea fleets inside the country.[13]

The shipbuilding industry is the backbone for the navy, and the ancient Persian Empire was a traditional naval power.

It is nice to Iran is now going back to its root.

We need to cooperate. it would be in the interests of both people of both countries. We must have tech that we can swap

Guys, I`m more interested in the landing crafts being built by ISOICO. We need more landing crafts. We have to be ready to send troops these sheikhdoms in case they start something. We have a significant man power advantage over these puny sheikhdoms. We need landing crafts to use this advantage. They`ve already built a giant landing craft. Hopefully more will be ordered.

I am not sure, but Iran is going to unveil several more frigates by the end of this year.
destroyer would be waste of money, I mean 1-2 will okay. in case of war we cannot risk making too many and loosing them.

I did not know our ship industry was this good. I heard the steel that is made in bandar abass is good for ship building.

destroyer would be waste of money, I mean 1-2 will okay. in case of war we cannot risk making too many and loosing them.

The navy depends on the economy of the nation, so an economically stronger Iran will naturally spend more on navy.
