I also prefer Deng over Mao, but admit that Mao created the base which all his successors can build China on.

Mao is the greatest. Deng and others are not in the same league. It is easy to find someone like Deng after Mao did the most dirty job. Who can imagine in 1937 China will defeat US 13 years later? In 1937 China was in the utmost despair.

Chen Yun is as capable as Deng in terms of party affairs and national affairs in 80s. During the 50s there are lots of talent in CPC, and Deng was just a member in the league of Liu Shaoqi, Lin Biao, Gao Gang.
