Indeed. T-38 Talons have beaten F-22s in air exercises. That does not mean that T-38s would survive F-22s in a real combat operation. On the contrary, they'll be blown out of the sky in a glimpse.

Mig21s won against F15s. It was later revealed that per Indias request - the F15s weren't allowed to simulate BVR attacks (their biggest advantage), that it was 3 Mig21s vs 1 F15, and that there were even more factors that aided the Mig21.

So, technically, the Mig21s won! But the exercise was not realistic at all.

say it a setup as Mastan said or an eye opener, in the end we make them realize where they stand and what they need to do. so what they are doing, you answer it yourself.

Retirement would be the death of me. You know in the US there is no retirement age. You can keep working as long as you want to.
