The pavilion of Halcon, one of the companies listed under the UAE Defense Technology Group, attracted attention through the company’s pavilion, which presented a group of jet engines, during the first day of the IDEX exhibition. Among the group that designed and implemented the jet engines project, she is the mechanical engineer, Aisha Salem Al-Numani, one of the employees of Halcon Company and a graduate of the United Arab Emirates University.

Aisha Salem explained that the project consists of jet engines used in launching missiles and planes, and she is one of a team of three engineers, noting that she is one of the implementers of the project, which was completely completed in the Emirates.

She stated that the work team has implemented and designed three types of jet engines, which are designed for missiles and weapons, which require these types of engines, and unmanned aircraft.


She indicated that the idea of the project came with the aim of supplying the Emirati defense system, and providing it with powerful engines, and that these engines are the first of their kind in the Middle East, and that the work team aspires to make the UAE the first Arab country to manufacture such advanced engines.

Regarding the participation of women in designing and manufacturing defense machines and military equipment, she said: There are now many Emirati girls in this field, who hold technical specialties in mechanics and artificial intelligence, and unlike past years, in which there were few graduates of these specialties, confirming that the girl The UAE has become a difficult number, and it is currently participating in most of the delicate technologies, whether defensive or related to the space sector, and that the first goal is to serve the state and create young national cadres of females and males, in line with the state’s orientations and empowering women.

They could add a turbojet on a P31 or P32 kit like the JSOW-ER, the engine used on the JSOW-ER is actually a lot weaker than the biggest UAE made one.

Awesome stuff. The UAE is really an example for all Arab countries, including Saudi Arabia. The latter just also buys a lot of stuff and so their domestic stuff gets overshadowed. But the stuff the UAE is doing is just amazing.

The JSOW-ER is American, so probably a US Navy F/A-18 Hornet? It uses an engine with 670 netwons to propel the JSOW-ER to 560km at high altitude whereas two of the UAE made engine has 1000, and 750 newtons.

I was offering it as an example of the what the engines uses are, but they are too weak to power the HAS-250 missile. The engines should power the Nasef, Shadow 50 and 25, and the future developments we will see at Dubai Airshow. Using common engines on multiple platforms will reduce costs, and allow easier maintenance.

Halcon is also collaborating with the Serbians and set up a regional office in Belgrade working mainly on solid fuel rockets for UAE missiles.

Oh that was the JSOW, that's why I was wondering what aircraft that was and now it makes sense that it's either a T-38 Talon or an F-5 with those landing gears. Cool.

F-18 rear landing gear is like crab legs. These look a lot more like T-38 or F-15 but the F-15 front landing gear doesn't have a double bracket on both sides of the front wheel. TKF-500 could easily power it yes.

Seems the engine will use 3.5kn of thrust, so that engine is too powerful though.

What about retired aircrafts engines or completely retired aircrafts as huge missiles? Like that huge Soviet antiship missile

I think they could also go for a decoy missile like the ADM-160 using this turbojet which will help strike missions survive and allow for suppression of enemy air defenses.

Also, the Serbian engine from Edepro used on the Nasef S-120 should be replaced soon by the UAE made one. Serbians aren't a bad partner, they don't follow MTCR so any missile range can be worked on with them with no restrictions. There are about a half dozen people at Halcon who went to the university of Belgrade so there is that connection as well.

I should make a compilation soon, but iirc something like 10-15 different missiles being worked on at the same time as far as we know.

We should see about 10 new missiles and other systems at Dubai airshow, and some relating to laser technology but not sure exactly what type of laser systems.
