Indian military is unprepared to fight China at this point in time. Indian military is asking for at least another 5 years of time before engaging with China on any conflict. US is not happy with this plan and putting pressure through its sanghi shills to engage China in 2020 itself as 2025 is too late. Hence the dichotomy.

I think military speaking wise this is India's best chance to take on China, no doubt India will buy fancy hardware in future, but even after 5 years China will be too strong and India will stand not a chance against China.

You know to invade Ladak, one even has to carry water.

There is not even water available there if you are dying of thirst. Its not so easy to "invade" Ladak and stay there when your water, food, fuel and ammunition's run out.

There are 17 radar stations, 14 military airfields, 8 missile bases (housing both ICBMs & IRBMs) in Tibet.

In fact the airbases like Rudok, Gartok, Tashigong to take on IAF in Ladakh have been in place even before the 1962 Sino-Indian war.

Also, Pakistan and China will cooperate during the war.

Chinese fighters can takeoff with more fuel and payload from Skardu than from Rudok or Gartok or Tashigong in Tibet.

Fighters will take off from Skardu (Pakistan) , bomb Ladakh (India) and land in Rudok (Tibet/China)
