You really are coming across as a bit of an obsessive type now. The use of and impact of the word p@ki depend on its intonation and context. There is no need to be feigning ignorance about that. If you live in UK like I do, you would jolly well know that already. You began your thread with generalised misconceptions about Pakistanis, which folks pushed back against. Then you got defensive and used the p word liberally.

Now for the record, I and many here actually AGREE with the underlying point that Pakistanis should be proud of their Indus Valley heritage and/or identity, regardless of their precise DNA. That is who we are. I still don't fully get your point because at times you seem to suggest the same but you also argue with everyone who disagrees with either all or parts of your discourse.

Obviously you're well travelled and knowledgeable, yet by not being willing to listen to anyone who disagrees, and moreover by resorting quickly to a slur that you well know has a rich legacy in Pakistani history, you're just coming across as the kind of individual who uses the "Pakistanis are unsure about their identity" as an offensive trope (which I discussed in my last post), rather than methodically provoking debate and discussion.

In short, you're either a troll or you're not. It's STILL not clear after all these pages, especially since many much politer posters than me have respectfully suggested you stop the p word usage and many posters who are far more clued up than you or me on anthropology and history are summarily dismissed by you.

Just my observations on why this thread has deteriorated.

Thank the blue sky above that it is not due to the national security hazard, the Yahood-Hanood conspiracy, and their collusive agents masquerading about this sweet, innocent, virginal forum. I must count my blessings.

According to the functionalist’s continuity theory of aging, old people tend to keep their same life style even when they get old. So they have all the capabilities to adapt to new trends

Stop with half this lie and half that lie.

this "soor ma" now teaching old people how to adopt and survive, by ignoring the fact that, not even they survive and adopt but he too because of them....

because of which people he survived and given life and "education" (debatable) he wants to teach them how to adopt and survive by " feeling proud of slurs and by joining them to insult own self".

Jis thali mae kahaya......

and its not half lie eh.....1/4 get your fact......

You're right. I do use the P word liberally, probably because until I few years ago, I didn't see myself as anything other than British because of how mix I am. But I took time and went through all my heritages and connect with them. But because growing up in a house where slurs were common, such as p@kis which my dad used against fresh of the boat Pakistanis who refused to integrate, or Chinamen for Asians who came after the handover when tens of thousands of Hong Kong Chinese came to UK, it became normal to say those terms. And you have to know, my dad didn't grow up in a Pakistani community, he grew up in a small village outside of Glasgow where even till this day, there are only 3 non white non Christian families, one of them being ours. He didn't see himself as Pakistani or Afghan, he saw himself as British. And the same goes for me.

Let's not pretend that punjabis don't have ethnic slur names for sindhis or pakhtuns, or that pakhtuns do t have ethnic slurs for punjabis or balochis. You all do it aswell. I've heard it here within the Pakistani community.

I apologise if I came off as aggressive, but when elders on this forum forget where there place is, it's becomes my responsibility to put them back where they belong. Age doesn't give you respect, your character gives you respect.

But thanks for the honest and respectful comment.

On the contrary, i would've agreed to some of your points that indeed something needs to be done to make some people proud of what we are. However your way of getting your point across has been extremely offensive, and then you expect us to listen to you? Have you even read my posts enough to make that generalization? Ofcourse i will get offended.

You're despicable. If you're ashamed of your 1/4 Pakistaniat, disown it and leave us be.

@jaibi @AgNoStiC MuSliM This member has been acting very hostile. I'm sure this sort of behaviour isn't allowed on the forum.
I wouldn't have acted aggressively if the members on the forum didn't ignorantly accuse me of pretending to be Pakistani and being a secret Indian.
Maybe you should go and look at that first. Who started the aggressive attitude, me or them.

@waz please just go through this thread and see if anything needs to be done here. Thanks

We should respect each other. Nobody knows everything. We can disagree with each other, but in a polite manner. Beneficial knowledge usually is associated with modesty and humbleness.

It is also the blessed month of Ramadhan.

only person disrespectful, abusive and using personal insults is OP.

HE and His Father do not consider themselves Pakistanis, so whats the obsession and fuss. His last post explained, his father used Slurs for immigrants becoz he considered himself British, and he inherited this abuse and slur from him, please remember his father was born and grew up in UK.

Well, we should respect each other. My paternal grandfather came to UK in the 1940s. I was born in UK, too.

Disrespect is accusing someone of pretending to be Pakistanis and calling them Indian. That's what @Pan-Islam-Pakistan did, yet you didn't send one comment to him scolding him for wrongfully accusing someone without proof. You want to shamelessly stand here and talk about respect. You didn't even acknowledge what he said almost like you didn't care. So don't go all high and mighty talking about respect. Learn the meaning first before preaching it.

You've been here long enough. You've seen the way people in Pakistan feel about overseas Pakistanis, they don't see us as equals.

My paternal side came to the UK in 1938

that is well and good, you did not use any abusing language to the member disagree with you. on the other hand OP is proud of using slurs.

ignorance is a bliss...
all that pride of being British with comprehension issues. His comments are based on your comments, but still he did not resort to personal attacks and insults....but you did, respond to him without using personal attacks and abuses.
your rants overshadow everything else and invited aggressive responses.

I ignored your abusive posts as well, with personal attacks.

again, you and your father do not consider yourselves as Pakistanis, so what do you care.
Pakistanis consider overseas Pakistanis as equal Pakistanis, but not the once who do not consider themselves Pakistanis and abuse them, because they feel they are living in Gora land so they are better then others.

Maybe you go read his comments again. He started to fight when he falsely accused me, I didn't start the fight.

You didn't even respond to what he said. You jumped at me for using a slur but didn't respond at him for falsely accusing someone of being an Indian. That's shameful. Had you called both of us out, maybe then I would have had more respect for you, but the fact that you completely ignored his accusations and went after me, that's called two sided hypocrisy.

Elders are supposed to lead by example. The example you showed was to forget one individuals wrong and discriminate against the other person who's defending himself.

And lastly, if I thought I was better than you because I grew up in gora land, I wouldn't have wasted the last 14 years learning Urdu, Ozbeki, and Tajiki in order to connect with my heritage. I only knew Russian and English up to the age of 10. I learned the rest to better connect to my roots

I apologise for getting aggressive at you, but what you did was wrong and unfair.

My paternal grandmother did tell me in person that my paternal grandfather came to UK around 1936. It was for a short period at first. Then he came back again. He had a Kashmiri friend who invited him. But those were different times.

There should be good humour between people. However, if injustice is done, then people will most likely have grievances.

I am ashamed of my shameful behaviour. I abused Pakistan and Pakistanis and kept defending it. Please accept my humble apologies. we need more educated Pakistanis like you to educate and enlighten illiterate failures of older generation.

Thank you.
