Indian's beloved Tariq Fateh views on Imran Khan visit to USA

Its racist to demand that all Americans should be spoken to in English only. I thought living in US for so long you would call out for the bigotry and Islamophobia displayed by him.

To be honest, I really do not pay attention to the likes of him. To me he is just another nutcase, TBH.

However, I also accept that he is entitled to express his views.

@Arsalan @Dubious @Irfan Baloch Can I engage in such name calling too? I can come up with some interesting ones, I bet. :D

all sorts on nonsense is being talked about here except the essence of what tarek fateh said:

he said (and I paraphrase): there were around 35 thousand American citizens cheering for a foreign land and singing its anthem while PRETENDING to be loyal to the USA (and not even knowing words of its anthem)

Does he understand what happens in meetings and celebrations of such diaspora all over USA? St. Patrick's Day parades, for example? Or Puerto Rican Day? And so on. :D

Yes like any other racist and confederate flag bearer out here, all are entitled to express their views per the first amendment. No body asked to charge him with any crime or put him jail. Its just that decent folks are expected to be brave enough to use the same constitutional provision and call a spade a spade. Based on your “logical response” next time when a bigot on the streets starts asking hispanic couples to “speak in English only among themselves” - as that is the definition of patriotism - I doubt you will just repeat the same arguments publicly in defense.

As a matter of fact the first amendment never specified that the right to express ones views have to be in English only - so the attack on these rights was by this “nutcase”. You can ignore him, but our secular neighbor in the east provides media space to him openly. So not he is not just an average street idiot that we should ignore.

exactly! but why are the PDFers talking all kinda bollocks instead of telling him what you just said?

LOL. Pardon me but your prejudice against me seems to be unnecessarily personal. :D

How I would respond in such a hypothetical situation is up to me, and me alone, and your "doubts" do not matter to me at all. :D

What can I say. PDF is an echo chamber by design. :D

And as I said above, the only effective way is to respond calmly and logically to present a better counter-argument, for example my response above to @doorstar .

(And to you as well. :D )

Oh no nothing personal - all the negative tone you may have noticed was not meant for you.

But it was a very simple hypothetical scenario that shouldn't be hard to answer - like are neo nazis bad? Most decent folks would easily condemn it. But you are entitled to your views as you said.

Hmmm your first response was he is entitled to express his views - which no body stopped him from expressing anyway.

As are you. And Mr. Fatah. See how that works for everyone equally? :D
As is for any racist as well.
I still don't see who attempted to stop Mr Fateh that you keep repeating this?

Of course. Trying to muzzle anyone is generally not effective just on the basis of a difference of opinions, and it is far better to present a better counter argument.

when it turns into incitement to hatred against the other, is it still freedom of speech? or does that only apply to Muslims?

That is a question best answered by each society and legal system according to its own due processes.

I don’t know why you keep repeating this when nobody attempted to stop Mr Fateh. I or anyone has not asked that Mr Fateh’s right to speech be taken away?
Its just that racist views are condemnable and should be called out and discouraged using those same rights; rather than giving a passive approval in form of “right to express views”.

And nobody is muzzling you either in whatever condemnations you wish to issue. I am totally fine with that too.
