Doctor creates world's first protection makeup from acid attack

Acid attacks can devastate a person both mentally and physically, and statistics suggest that the incidents are only occurring more frequently. A British doctor has claimed to create the world’s first makeup add-on which will be prone to acid attacks and protect victims’ faces from being disfigured, reported The Independent.

Inspired by Katie Piper, who suffered an acid attack in 2008 by her ex-boyfriend which left her with various facial injuries including blindness, Dr Almas Ahmed has spent the last 10 years to develop a non-reactive formula called Acarrier, which can be added to any cosmetic product.

Ahmed’s waterproof compound has a high boiling point which means that it will protect the wearers from getting fire-related injuries. It will also prevent the caustic material in the acid to react with the skin. Speaking to BBC Radio 5 Live, she said that she started developing the add-on when she was in medical school. Ahmed added, “I kind of forgot about the issue but this summer, when I saw that there was lots of acid attacks in the news, it made me want to revisit the idea and finish it off. That’s why I have come to this stage now.”

The doctor also explained that adding her Acarrier to makeup that individuals already own does not change its aesthetics. She stated, “It works very well. It blends like a normal foundation and you can apply it to different kinds of products such as eyeliners, mascaras, lipsticks and even nail varnishes.”

Ahmed is currently awaiting approval from the Medicines and Healthcare Products Regulatory Agency (MHRA). However, she confidently shared that her product has been tested and works perfectly. The Bradford-based medic hopes to get her invention to the shelves by next summer. In the UK, acid attacks have been on the rise with incidents increasing by 0.3% between 2015 and 2017. The first half of 2017 experienced approximately 400 attacks which roughly equates to two incidents per day.

According to Assistant Chief Constable of Suffolk Police and National Police Chief Council, the UK currently has one of the highest rates of reported acid and corrosive substance attacks per capita in the world.

The only serious way of preventing and completely stopping these attacks is to drown the perpetrators in acid.

If Person A attacks Person B with acid then the only punishment Person A deserves is twice the amount of acid. More importantly, drowning the perpetrator in acid is only the beginning of justice for the victim.

The perpetrators get away, the victims get zero justice.

There are highly educated people who will happily sell crack, bath salts and other such dangerous drugs to kids to make a few dollars.

1) Prevention / education / strict control on product like acid etc: it will help to reduce crimes as the one with acid attacks...

2) the step 1 will never bring a free crime society, so punishements are required.

3) Step 1 + Step 2 = Punishments : not required to be crual/animal. In case of rape / acid attacks and many others a full life jail term without any possibility to be freed and in harsh jail conditions (not like a 1,2 or 3 stars hotel), with just one lunch in a day, very tight room, would be best.

As per your example, Imagine a case of rape (without use of acid), the culprit should be raped ? who will rape it ? you ? your family member father, brother, sister mother ? who ?

Well if you had taken the time to study something called education which your Creator sent down to you, you won't be asking these questions.
But since you are missing on that.
Let me help you with some education from psychological perspective.

Civilizations are all based on rule of law. Where there is law, everyone falls in place, where there is no law, there is nothing but chaos.
And when the punishment is easy and does not create an idea of "fear", its never going to be enough because an asshole would still go rape 10 women because he knows all he's gonna get is imprisonment, and for low life assholes, imprisonment ain't too hard to go through.
And why should we waste our resources on criminals by keeping them on public money and feeding them?

There are people who are strong enough to control their animal soul and lead with kindness and love. And then there are animals who are lead by their animal soul which is anger and sensuality.

You simply can;t control wild beasts without teaching them the idea of fear. When was the last time some one captured a mature lion from the forest and taught them obedience by holding them in a cage?
Chop some one's hand off the next time they steal something. Then see who else dares to follow?

Yes all measures should be taken to prevent this from happening in the first place. However such harsh steps need to be taken to set an example to put the fear in those contemplating such a thing. U drown the first wave, second wave, and third wave of ppl who have thrown acid at ppl...in acid...and televise it live as their bodies melt away...soon no one will dare to do it.

I know it sounds barbaric...and I used to think like that too that we r not animals...we r surely better. However it seems to be the only way. The victim's whole life is ruined after they have acid thrown in their face. The physical scars are just as permanent as the psychological scars.

Psychologically humans form their identity with the image of their face(not any other body part). U see ur reflection and know it's u, u see urself in pictures and know it's u...once that's gone(disfigured) u forever carry with urself a reminder of what once was...and what happened. Ur self esteem goes down the drain...ppl's stares sting(even if they didn't mean it as such), ur social life takes a heavy toll, etc. It's a reality that one hardly ever accepts...forever yearning to be able to get back what once was.

The perpetrators usually get jail time? At worst life in prison? That's not justice. The only acceptable solution to a crime such heinous is to have no such crime in the first place. Those who choose to go down that road need to know what horror awaits...and if they are wise they will shun all thoughts of going through with such a thing.
