This piece from Dunya Newspaper claims that soon Intelligence Bureau Chief will be appointed which could be current serving Army Officer or a former one. Also Punjab Police to go through massive changes from officers getting thrown out to new and hard working officers being given senior and strong positions with full freedom to do the work as they deem best.

that is one change I 100% agree with. Better to Bring someone who knows how intelligence works rather than some merasi mian liked who spies on his opponents instead of solving issues.

My suggestion is it should be from Police. I suggest that IG of KPK who was made IG after Durrani retired and was removed from post when caretaker Government came. He lost his son to terrorism and than formed CTD in KPK. He should be given the post and total free hand

Derwaish, The best model for policing I have seen is Colombian. Their police reforms are in my research the best to deal with terrorism and crime. The massive need for improvement is still there!!

Colombia has one of the most disastrous Police Force for GOD sake. Chile has over all good reputation and also few others. Mexico and Colombia are most disastrous Police Forces in south america

Army officers are no match for career civilian Intel officers.That is likely going to do the same,it's Govt which is gonna set up tasking for organization,rather then head himself.

Wrong decision, there should be civilian LEA and Intelligence agency to have counter check on MI.

IB and FIA are civilian organisations. And Army Guys should be kept away from these ones. Better to put some Police Officer on this post who has served in Police Intelligence like Special Branch and others from start of his carrier
