If only we can control Pirated Softwares that are rampant in Pakistan. Our IT Industry can see a boom unmatched. Cost of Western Developed Software systems is not feasible at all to our local markets.

How exactly does pirated software affect our IT industry?
I think pirated softwares have played their role in spreading computer usage and knowledge.

I think pirated softwares have played their role in spreading computer usage and knowledge.
Because you can use a western developed pirated software for free or with 50 Rs DVD which will kill any prospects of development of any software in your home country.
Say you are using a project management software for free that costs 5 Dollars in actual. You will use that free software and nobody will bother to put efforts to develop it in house. If This Piracy is banned. Your own Software developers will program such softwares that have demand in market and sale it at a price as per your own costs in your economy. Western Software houses cannot compete on prices.
Computer usage spread have nothing to do with piracy.
All usage you do can be done with a Linux Based System watch movies, use office applications, Surf Internet all open source and NOT Pirated. Same goes for Game Developers. You buy 100 Rupee pirated Game which actually cost 6000 Rs. at 6000 Rs most of Pakistanis wont buy any PC Game. That will give space to local game developers and industry. Get it?
If Stolen Bikes from Foreign countries are made legal here and Bikes will cost 10,000 Rs per say, your local bike industry will be destroyed and will never even exist in first place they cannot make and sale a bike for 10,000 and Millions of Technicians Engineers will loose their jobs. Apply the same for Piracy.
I would even say ban the imports of Used PCs as well

i think this will make many accountants to lose their jobs as
they are no more needed for finance and lease book keeping as it is done by software

I understand what you are saying but which Pakistani company has ever developed or tried to develop and market an operating system or anything close to Lotus 123 or Microsoft office?
Most of Pakistani companies are involved in contract work only, no one (as far as I know) has developed and marketed anything on their own.

IF IF IF our software development market becomes profitable only then will efforts and resources be put into development. And thats only possible if we stop pirated softwares.
And their is a viable free open source alternative available to Microsoft office that is Libre Office or Open office.
Any thing that is imminent necessity of market, And is at a price much higher then affordable price,
And which can be produced and sold at a lower price in house will be produced. That is a universal law of Market Economies.
Which unfortunately we still fail to understand and most of Pakistanis are advocates of Cheap used imports and pirated softwares. Developed Countries dump their crap in our country and we happily accept it destroying our manufacturing base and Foreign software houses don't get any significant revenue in the first place so they don't bother to do any efforts to stop piracy of their products doing so they kill any competition from developing countries IT Industry.
