Vietnam urges Japan to stop the Chinese in the South China Sea

The future of anti-submarine warfare is in underwater drones.
Late last month, Beijing dropped a dozen underwater drones, also known as unmanned underwater vehicles, in an unspecified location in the international waterway to carry out "scientific observations," state-run media outlet Xinhua reported.

The torpedo-shaped vehicles — called Haiyi, or sea wings in Mandarin — will remain underwater for a month, according to reports. In March, one device hit a depth of 6,329 meters, breaking an earlier record held by a U.S. vessel, Xinhua said.

"The ability of UUVs to detect and hunt submarines, thereby rendering oceans transparent, potentially changes the way of warfare," Sylvia Mishra, junior fellow at New Delhi-based think tank Observer Research Foundation, said in a note earlier this month. "It is precisely why Beijing has been investing in a burgeoning underwater drones industry, which enjoys considerable national-level funding and support."

UUVs may be presently used for scientific research, but they could be upgraded for underwater combat, patrol, mine-sweeping and submarine detection operations, Mishra continued. "It is likely that the People's Liberation Army will utilize UUVs for military purposes."

They are called gliders because they use small wings and a buoyancy control mechanism to glide down and up in the water, and wave energy to propel themselves forward.

These machines can travel long distances without needing to recharge their batteries for weeks or even months. Equipped with multiple sensors, they not only can monitor the natural environment but also can pick up data of interest to military forces, such as the propeller noise or magnetic anomaly – meaning the disturbance in the magnetic field – caused by a nuclear submarine. And because the glider produces virtually no sound, its existence can be unknown to the sub.

I wonder why you are proud of being a hooligan?

Feeling no shame when making up fake stories to comfort yourself.
LOL at so much Viet humiliation! Did your three frogmen marines die from "fake stories" or from Chinese automated explosives? Did Japan Times report a "fake story" about Japan agreeing to maintain status quo with China in the East China Sea including PLAAF and PLAN patrol of Senkaku Islands? Or did all "allies" abandon dirty poor monkeys to help themselves?

Lol,we see doklam from a completely different view.We are still waiting for your forward road to jamperi. But i won't change the subject.
LOL but first you claimed Doklam was Bhutan land and you were obligated to defend Bhutan. Then PLA mobilized for war and you retreated, leaving your "ally" completely at PLA mercy and leaving us with a huge military base in Doklam.

Do you think making a figure can make this west propoganda shit more credible? You know everything about our top secret? Just some fucking BS used by someone from a useless slumdog country. Degrading our weapons are the daily routine of the shameless westerners and their slumdog followers...

Jump off the window and end your useless life idiot

Wow you managed to pull a chart that's outdated for 10 years.I saw these two when I was in high school. Do you use pigeon internet in India or something?

10 years ago sverodvinsk and 095 weren't even in service, yet they are in the charts. That answers you. These estimates come from office of us naval intelligence.

LOL are these the same people who threatened to enforce the July 2017 PCA arbitration decision against China in the South China Sea? Why did they scurry away at the last minute? This is the IQ level of an Indian "think tank"?

Those from the slumdog country are so frustrated and worried that soon, even their american daddy won't be able to save them...
The more the enemy cry, the greater the job we are actually doing right now... They are free to say our subs are noisy than subs in the 40s to pacify their people (they didn't even know what our subs, e.g., type 095 are like, yet they know the noise level already, lol...) , but the reality is harsh for them because half the pacific ocean, and indian ocean, the entire SCS will be ours within 10 years.:yahoo:

The Indians who would actually die in the front line against China are already surrendering. The rest just cover their ears and say "all iz well."

Variable Depth Sonar (VDS) can detect enemy submarines up to hundreds of miles away.

The large portal in the 054A Frigate's rear holds the Variable Depth Sonar, as well as the powered winch used to lower it deep into the Pacific Ocean. With the right seawater density, salinity and temperature, a VDS detect enemy submarines up to hundreds of miles away.

Japan under the leadership Shinzo Abe and Emperor Akihito already surrendered to China recently by signing the military information sharing treaty so we can show some mercy on them for now. If they are smart they better double-time kiss Chinese feet for the next 100 years.

https://www.japantimes.co.jp/news/2...al-maritime-mechanism-avoid-military-clashes/

it's just a matter of time that Japan will be back into Sino-sphere, what China need the most to do now is to understand how US is exploiting the Sino-Japan difference and trying to fix our difference so US can't use it as bargain chip against China and China need to exploit US's difference with nations around the world for our benefit.
And Ultimately we will have as much as bargain chip to deal with US.

Notice the large opening necessary for the VDS on the stern of the ship. Does not exist on a regular Arleigh Burke.

They were estimating, which is usually off like Indians.

Except their estimates also come from actually constantly snooping on chinese subs during patrols and the best intelligence service in the world.Even today us subs can very easily pick up any chinese ssns leaving port from dozens of miles away as it says in the links, not just the graph which comes from an official intelligence report. There is no pattern or logic as to why usa would praise chinese surface ships so much only to disparage ssns to such a degree.
