What's new

It would help if the forum allows discussion

None taken seriously ....... I have ample experience dealing with elderly closely related individuals, I know the age factor and it helps me getting ready for it.

It hurts less when you don't have these false expectations. Live the reality and things get easier.

My other niche is more close to me because I and Joe are same there, on equal footing (though his flowery angraiji is a challenge but still I get to learn) ..... we are not favorites of anyone and we are not hated by anyone. Freedom to say what we want to say within reasonable respectful bounds. I like writing my mind there.

Okay now I think we have sufficiently derailed this thread ...... anything you want to add please move to whatever.

Smooth ...

Arab se seekhna padega.

Uncle (as you mentioned you are 10 years older so going forward I have to respect you) ..... you need to get yourself checked ...... I don't know if they have invented any tests yet that can help identify Arabophobia ....

Please man.

The Persian race ruled Arabs as slaves (at best vassals) for most of their history.

A thousand years a plagiarized idea holds the upper hand and you think a master warrior race is phobic?

It's you who needs his head checked if you really think so.

That too when the only achievement of note was the defeat of one of the weakest kings of an empire exhausted, fatigued and at it weakest in 8000 years due to a ongoing millennial war with the other super power of the ancient world at the time.

One defeat in one battle (e.g. Panipat) breaks the back of a military force and takes it 10 years to recover.

Now think of cross continent wars (land and sea campaigns) over two thousand years. And put Al Qadisiya into its true perspective ...

To help you further, take a look at the two people and their modern nation states today.

Cheers, Doc

Brother, I admire you to be a good member. And many other people do as well. You are most welcome here to post, share, and even knock Pakistanis dow when ever we try to cross our limits. :)

Oh, I have my close friends here, you included. Why do you think I don't make a clean break?

In fact, there are new members coming on board, and older members making very sensible and memorable posts, and I can see that the 'dregs' and the 'regs' are two different constituencies. What is more, I do occasionally react to the dregs, but most of the time, I ignore them. There is enough sustenance in conversations with the regs. I started reading about the second Battle of Aleppo, and how the Russians imported their battle-craft and tried to align the Syrian Army with their doctrines, only because an old friend from the forum pointed this out.

I was complaining about some underhand things done to me.

Never mind.Glad to hear from you.

Ro lia? Ya ubi kuch matam baki hy?

Within few years of our revolution ........ we simultaneously took on to teach human rights lesson to two of the super powers and tyrannies of that time.

You can present any and many excuses ....... but hey lets not give the credit and keep crying, crying for the empire that will never be rebuilt.

We didn't kill your king ......... it was common peasant Persian who killed him. Have you ever thought about that? Why a Persian farmer killed a Persian king (who was supposed to be a son of God for him)?

Unlike majority of Indians and Pakistanis here, my eyes are always pointed on the hands who play with both of Pakistan and India. Those who sale us arms, their 3rd quality goods, and we can't produce them at home, just because we are too busy chasing each other. I am fan of all those who think like this. So, you see :)

Completely agree. It is an appropriate point of view, and you have given me a fresh point of view to adopt.

By definition of the administrators, there are no good Indian members. You cannot expect both sides to be present when there is such a jaundiced and vindictive treatment of Indian members by individual administrators.
Oh come on boss!!
This is not true. We all know there are many good Indian members (ok, lets say "SOME" :P) but it is not like you become a bad or good member based on the flag only. This is not the case sir.

I feel for mods it's not easy to deal with bunch of kids, trolls , blind Patriots , religious nuts and keyboard warriors .. it's hard to keep a neutrality among hundreds of cases there are always ups and downs in every forum .
Personally my posts often gets deleted for trolling but I know I deserve it but never get banned ( thankfully ) .
I often report posts that include posts from think tanks too , if there is a way to show your dislike or disapproval for some members or posts just report it ..
Healthy criticism should be appreciated by our neighbors and from us but I do encourage that mods make strict rules about disrespectful remarks about dead soldiers ,women and disable people .

Right.

Let's test that.

Name one Indian member who will not complain about discriminatory, unfair or unreasonable treatment.

My logic is simple: if, as you say, and you MUST be right, there are good Indian members, to an unquantified number, at least a fraction of them must feel that they are fairly done by. So can we spot one?

One year ago - even, say, six months ago - I, for one, would have said loudly that I felt that there was no discrimination.

You're quite right; we all make mistakes, and we should not blame the moderators when they discharge their thankless duties and ban one or more of our posts that have crossed the line. It has happened to me, and I had no problem with that, and continue to have no problem.

But there are other indicators, and it is those that bother me, and convince me that there is a change of gear. People have quoted names; I have no problems with the bulk of them. I have a major problem with what is clearly a policy made elsewhere and executed here.

To paraphrase Rumsfeld, we work with the forum we have, not the forum we wish we had. :D

That's a cop-out. :D

Not Sir. It is acceptance of the reality that the management sets the policies as they see fit, and members must work within their confines, fair or not. That is just the way it is.

Management will never change its policies until it is told that it is doing things wrong, and what is going wrong is explained to them. It is rarely that a management takes up self-examination in an autonomous manner and undertakes changes to renew itself.

Fair point, but what if the management are absolutely convinced that what they have chosen is the correctly mandated path for the forum? Any complaints would then fall under the category of malcontention rather than feedback. Hence, what cannot be cured ......
