What's new

For the first time .. Russian "Iskander" missiles in the Middle East/North Africa

It's Algeria for sure and Saudi Arabia. Saudi Arabia is collecting Ballistic Missiles and they give a dam about any law they already have Ballistic Missiles which have more than 1500 KM range so when you have money you can throw any law out of the window
It is not about Saudia it is about international law. No one is paying more money to Russia than India and still India cannot buy long range cruise missile from Russia they only have permitted Range missile. Russia cannot sell beyond the permitted range. So you are a elite member use some sense why would Saudis buy a missile that cannot reach their enemy with that I mean Iran and If Saudis want an under table deal they can easily get desired range missile from Pakistan at a low cost with more precise accuracy than Iskander as no country has tested more missile than Pakistan. Not even North Korea lol. Be a bit practical man.
Saudi missiles are "indigenous" just like the Yemeni missiles are.

Yes they have DF-3 and DF-21
DF-3 which has 4000 range was bought in 1987 at that time there was no restriction and the later bought DF-21 has a restricted range. DF-3 is junk and has no accuracy so DF-3 is junk with nuclear warhead. Sorry bro still no use for Saudia for buying Iskander in restricted range.

If Saudis have bought Iskander in restricted range I think Saudis are going to war with Qatar cause there is no one else they can target with the permitted range.
DF-21 has 1700 KM range Janab the restricted range is 300 KM

Saudis have brought Iskander with range it has no restricted range you really take international laws seriously most countries don't

In the 2006 Lebanon war Markava 4 tanks of Israel was destroyed by Russian made anti-tank fire and forget Armor piercing missiles which at that time no one else possessed but Hezbollah used it in high number. In the same war INS Hanit (Sa'ar 5 class) corvette was destroyed by C-802 Chinese made missile which was also used by Hezbollah now Hezbollah is not a state still it poses such missiles. Middle east is strange place with different things showing up in the region. Iskander came to ME long time ago. Who ever has it, it is a good missile but the problem is for sale of international arms there is Range restriction but the way things end up in middle east there is no restriction on any range.

Saudia or UAE has no use for Iskander given the allowed range for international arms sale so lets be practical about the ME/African country that might want to buy the system.
All 2 Merkava Mk4s that were ever destroyed, were destroyed by huge IEDs.
INS Hanit was destroyed in 2006? The same ship in this picture from 2010?

Or this in 2014?

Here is the video of missile hit.

lol

Here is the video of missile hit.
First of all, you see nothing in this video.
Second of all, a hit doesn't mean this:
" In the same war INS Hanit (Sa'ar 5 class) corvette was destroyed by C-802 Chinese"

Look bozo Israel was a** kicked in 2006 war by russian made anti tank missile and Chinese made anti ship missiles and this is nothing hidden. Markava 4 badly failed in 2006 and INS Hanit got destroyed so leave the propoganda and get back to the topic. Israel cannot get over this same of losing war to a small force. Now there are rumors that Hezbollah has more advanced Russian weapons after the Syrian war as of its alliance to Russian in Syria. Now get back to the topic if you have any info on who bought the Iskander as if it is any one other than Saudis the missile is for Israel.

"The contracts that are signed with Egypt will certainly be implemented. Putin will not care about the West and the United States," said Igor Koruchinko, He added that Egypt's possession of strong weapons would be a factor in the stability of the region, and that the volume of deals between Russia and Egypt would be worth between 2 and 3 billion dollars, and Egypt would be the first country to buy the Russian "Iskander" missiles.

So my assessment was correct that it was Egypt not Saudis.

Who said Saudi Arabia..not me for sure..look at the bottom of OP you'll see I said Egypt most likely..

The same article says only Armenia got the system before this deal.. So according to the Russian this is the second export contract for the system after Armenia.. We heard many times in the news that KSA, Algeria and Egypt were interested in the system..

Algeria claims to have the Iskander already for quite some time, but we haven't seen any pics of them there yet.

Algeria was the first buyer in the MENA region.
That is controversial.. the only known fact is that Algeria started negotiations in 2008, some say they have 4 batteries, but the Russians said in many recent articles that only Armenia got the system and that was about a year or so ago.. which makes the Algerian claim not withstanding..
I hope that Algeria as well as Egypt get it.. it will be a good addition to either army..
