Washington: Accusing China of building psychological pressure on India, senior BJP leader Yashwant Sinha has said that if voted to power, his party would meet any such activity from Beijing head on.

"Muscle would be met with muscle," Sinha said yesterday at the prestigious Brookings Institute, when asked what would be India's foreign policy with regard to China and Pakistan under BJP's rule.

Sinha, who is on a private visit to the US, said that India cannot allow China to get away, or get better in the psy-warfare like frequent territorial incursions or issuing threat to the Indian oil explorations in the South China Sea.

"Our ships are looking for hydro carbons in South China Sea, they would buzz them for instance. From time to time they would say this part of India belongs to us, that part of India belongs to us," he said.

"Our (BJP's) point would be, we would not be demoralised. We would meet you headlong in the psy warfare is concerned. We will not be bumped. Muscle would be met with muscle," he said.

In fact, Sinha in his remarks identified China along with Pakistan as the two neighbours that have an eye on Indian territory.

"It also lays claim to an entire state within India, namely, Arunachal Pradesh. Many of us believe that China is encircling India from all sides in order to keep it contained. The pinpricks along the border continue," Sinha said.

"But India has risen in the last five decades; the global situation has also altered and China knows, as India does, that the border issue will not be settled by a clash of arms, but through negotiations," he said.

Responding to questions, Sinha said if BJP is voted to power in 2014, it would adopt a policy of "verify and trust" with Pakistan and would not tolerate any kind of interference or muddling in India’s security affairs by its neighbouring countries.

The BJP's policy, he said, is to engage Pakistan but only on the condition it would stop state-sponsored terrorism against India.

Thats good but its just wishful thinking....When BJP will come to power, no doubt they will be a little bit aggressive but not that much....

In BJP everybody talks big do nothing...

Example:

a.) Advani, we will send back bangladeshis. :blah:

But in reality not a single bangladeshi was sent by him even when he was Dey. Prime Minister and home minister of India.

b.) Yashwant Sinha (when he was finance minister of India), No one dies without eating onion (this was his reaction on the price hike)

During BJP's rule Sikkim was acknowledged by china, as Integral part of India.

The china problem is the gift from BJP to India.

These traitors have recognized Tibet as a integral part of china in return of that sikkim bluff.

They have let the defence down and have supported the chinese in India.

Now, India is flooded with cheap chinese stuff and our people and industries are facing the heat, all thanks to BJP

people like these only mouth off . they rarely do anything in times of emergencies.

who is he and his position or post in india. Liked the guy. At least he spoke truth about indian intentions.

u ugys got to think out of the box.....the youth can only ave the way for India;s future. Stopping thinking 2 party system.... CONgress and BJP are both a joke......certain individual leaders are ok but the rest of them are rotten to the core and have been involved in indian politics for mnay decades....no wonder we have not progressed in laws and politics!!!!!!! Time for the youth to start floating new parties and using ingenious methods to get publicity.....obviously the media will not give yoyu the time nor the day. I like Modi but he has certain issues related to communal riots. I like MMS but he is a weak puppet to Sonia....I hate Rahul.....bloody example of whats wrong with INdian politics...Dynasty politics....Advani plz give me a break....everyone of these scumbags are no good and bring nothing to the table............We are a nation of a billion ppl....its times to put aside our jobs and start thinking of the ocuntry otherwise we will end up like the US, where your citizens will lose rights (1% versus 99%)

Oh did someone say Indian politicians DONT play Pakistan centric politics. Well if you are the one who said it than this article is a slap in your face.

Doesn't matter how big a gun you carry, if you don't have a set of matching balls, that gun is worth nothing.
