Wing Loong I Drones deployed at PAF Base

Yes , its possible.

On 24 May 2001, an IDAF AH-64 Apache used two hellfire missiles to shoot down a Lebanese Cessna 152. This is the only known use of hellfire missile so far as an air-to-air missile.

Predator drones also use AGM-114 hellfire missiles and Electro optical systems use to lase a target.
With minimal chance to intercept, air to air fight between UACV needs radars or at least an IRST and he is talking about air to air fight between UCAVS not manned aircrafts:hitwall::crazy:

Apart from it's long endurance of up to 14 hours or 5000 km range, the Wing Loong-1 UCAV can carry a wide variety of weapons.

AGM 114 is not radar guided, that a radar is a must nor an IRST is a must. It has the capability to lock onto a moving object. The EO sights on chin of predator drone have the same mechanism as EO sights used on nose of AH64. EO sights have laser range finder and laser target designator. This is a laser guided operation using SALH (semi active laser homing).

But use against slow moving targets like helicopters/ propeller driven UAV/UACAV with a least capability to intercept fast jets/jet drones hellfire is basically a anti tank/anti bunker missile with secondary anti air mission with least capability:p:

Ho skta Hy na jb dosra drone nazr ay to ja k Takar maro us ki naak pe[emoji3]
:lol::lol::lol: good one:enjoy:

The best tool for:
  • border management
  • Anti terrorist action
  • Policing the western border - smugglers
  • Anti-state elements
  • Covering a wide barren area of Balochistan
Does it offer night time capabilities?

It does, night surveillance is there.

The electro-optical payload pod, fitted under the forward section of the fuselage, is integrated with day light and infrared cameras and sensors to collect surveillance and targeting data in both day and low-light / night conditions.

" … The drone has the ability to perform combat operations and … civil tasks such as disaster assessment, meteorological operations, and environmental protection."
The UAV is also equipped with synthetic aperture radar, laser designator, forward-looking infrared (FLIR) camera, as well as electronic countermeasures.

PAF chief said we will have MALE drones in 18 months. Could be testing our own.the recent released videos has a similar design on CAD

Do MALE or HALE drones need satellite data link for ground to air communications or they use some waves of diff bandwidths?

For long-range beyond-line-of-sight (BLOS) and over-the-horizon (OTH) two-way communication. It's still possible to command a HALE or MALE UAV at relatively short-range using a radio data-link between the UAV and ground-station. That's the default offering with China's CH-4 and CH-5 - i.e. two-way data-link of 280 km.

2020 is year when Beidou gets operational. My assumption is PAC MALE drone would become operational in same time frame. Pakistan already has a access to Military grade Beidou albeit in a limited capacity. Would be interesting to see How this entire thing pans out
