What's new

Will India also going to Buy-RUSSIA TO BUY 92 SU-34 FIGHTERS

no more mmrca like deal...it will be a laughter stock here and more money to italian mafia

Well their is a very valid reason why Indian Doctrine changed
In the 1970-80s Aircrafts lacked the ability to switch between Ground Attack to Air superiority role in flight , and they lacked adequate radar systems to enable pilot to keep an eye out for both Ground and Arial Targets
Also another Important factor is that in 1980s Indian Air force Had some 880 Fighters ie 350 Ground Attack and 530 Air to Air
and hence we could afford to send 2 Mig21 to escort 2 Mig27

Today , with Indian Fleet at 650-670 Fighters we cant afford to send 2 MKIs to escort 2 Jaguars , Hence We need Multirole Fighters coz Indian Fleet is likely to Hover between 700-750 even in 2020

nice information

U add just one line after posting an entirely different article, and what do you expect ? people are not that useless to simply speculate!!
We have enough kickass(sic) OPINIONATORS on PDF. One was recently owned in that cruise missile thread.

Plz don't try to act like one.

Russian Defense Ministry to Buy 92 Su-34 Fighters | Defense | RIA Novosti

General points:

Su 30 MKI, 34 and 35BM / S are all multi role combat aircrafts, that shares the general design, hardpoint layout, payload and weaponary. The difference basically comes from their customisations towards certain roles!
Su 35 is more geared for the A2A role, which requires only a single pilot, more maneuverability, features like long range radar or IRST. The Su 34 on the other side, is more geared for A2G and maritime attack roles, that's why they changed the cockpit section to twin seat layout, added specialised avionics... However, the Su 35 can still be used in the same A2G roles, but not as effectively, just like the Su 34 could be used in air defence roles, but again not as effectively.
IAF obviously don't want this seperation anymore and chose a twin seat multi role Su 30 and geared it up for better performance in A2A again (longer range radar, TVC, canards). That's why MKI offers a very balanced performance in both roles and comes pretty much inbetween of Su 35 and 34 in terms of capabilities. The Su 30 upgrade is again aimed on upgrading both sides, AESA radar, new IRST, reduced RCS, but also upgraded avionics and additional A2G / maritime attack capabilities.

With the addition of a similar balanced MRCA like Rafale, IAF don't need the Su 34 anymore, beacause these 2 types will increase their capabilities in all roles by far. Not to mention that FGFA is aimed to be similarly balanced and that with AURA UCAV and armed drones, dedicated strike aircraft will be inducted in future anyway.

Personally I love the looks of the Su 34, the cockpit section, the massive gears..., but the only role I would have liked to see them was, in dedicated shore based maritime attack squads of IN and a dedicated MPA version including ASW capability. However, IAF seems to add maritime attack capability to all MKIs and Rafales, which means that their won't be dedicated squads anymore and the ASW capability will be taken over by other aircrafts.

Our wish list will never end .

What all are we going to buy ?

It is endless . I am just looking forward to upgradrd mirages , Tejas mk2 , Rafale and Pak-fas for now .

3. Rafael and Su34 can take almost equal load and equal amount of amunation.

So I don't think that this masterpiece will come in grey color. :)

Nope, they can't carry equal load when combat loaded for deep strike.
Rafael may have 9.5 tons external capacity but a good portion of that load would be taken by fuel tanks as for the Fullback it got all 8 tons dedicated to weapons. Fullback can carry freaking 12.1 tons of fuel internally compared to Rafael's 4.7, Rafael can't do that even with 3 external tanks..

As China is looking to buy Su-35s, so IAF some plans too other than 200+ MMRCA Rafael Bs? I think that IAF might look towards the Su-34s in the long run, in coming years like in 2014....

the super sukhoi upgrade technically speaking after the upgrade both MKI and SU 35 BM will be are technically similar request senior members to through some more light happy to be corrected
so no need for SU 34 which is more of a bomber

regards

su-34 is bomber aircraft more than multirole
rafale is multirole
su-30mki is air supremacy jet
i think india is not more interested in russian jets\

Really
What do you think these bombs will be doing on it?
Air-to-surface Missiles:

3 × Kh-59ME TV guided standoff Missile, 115 km
3 × Kh-59MK active radar homing anti-ship missile, 285 km
4 × Kh-35 anti-ship missile, 130 km
1 × PJ-10 Brahmos supersonic cruise missile,300 km
1 × Nirbhay subsonic cruise missile,1000 km
6 × Kh-31P/A anti-radar missile, 70 km
6 × Kh-29T/L laser-guided missile, 30 km
4 × S-8 rocket pods (80 unguided rockets)
4 × S-13 rocket pods (20 unguided rockets)

Bombs:

8 × KAB-500L laser guided bombs
3 × KAB-1500L laser guided bombs
8 × FAB-500T dumb bombs
28 × OFAB-250-270 dumb bombs
32 × OFAB-100-120 dumb bombs
8 × RBK-500 cluster bombs
Along with LITENING
And India no longer interested in Russian planes.
Who told you that. What in your opinion is PAK-FA?

As mentioned in post #19, IAF purposely wanted a Flanker version that offers balanced multi role performance for A2A and A2G roles, that's why they went with the twin seat MKI and rejected the Su 35. That's why IAF won't need to add Su 35s or 34s anymore and with the Super 30 upgrade, it will be even superior to Su 35 BM in certain fields (PESA vs AESA for example).
When you then add Rafale, LCA and later FGFA, there is hardly any role or weight class left that IAF needs to fill.

Unlikely. MKIs can be modernized to Su-35 levels with upgrades. That's the plan. Our idea is not to match China machine to machine but enough to make them think 10 times before playing around.

We have a planned doctrine for that.
