Ron Paul said "DRONES IS ILLEGALLY"

"We're bombing Pakistan and trying to kill some people, making a lot of mistakes, building up our enemies, at the same time we're giving billions of dollars to the government of Pakistan," he added. "We're more or less inciting a civil war there, so I think that makes us less safe.

Do they look like traitors to you? :hitwall:

No doubt the protestors on the streets are the true heroes

The irony is that AM is doing on this forum, exactly what he is accusing USA of doing in drone strikes

Not even close. In a world that respects fairness and is against arbitrary power, Agnostic Muslims's use of his power as a moderator in changing the thread title here is a clear case of "might makes right", in his mind, of course. I am powerless to stop him or to change his arrogant use of his power, but that does not make him "right". In my eyes he has behaved like a "jerk", pure and simple

Could I have meant the same you guys are saying ? :agree:

5 killed in U.S. drone strike in NW Pakistan

English.news.cn 2012-05-23 07:02:37

ISLAMABAD, May 23 (Xinhua) -- At least five people were killed and several others injured when U.S. drones fired two missiles at a house suspected of being a militants' hideout in Pakistan's northwest tribal area of North Waziristan early on Wednesday morning, reported local Urdu TV channel ARY.

The drone attack report first came at about 2:40 a.m.by local time.

Local media quoted sources as saying that five U.S. drones were flying over Miranshah, a main town of North Waziristan before they fired two missiles at the house.

Identities of the victims in the strike are not known immediately as North Waziristan is a far-flung mountainous tribal area bordering Afghanistan.

US drones kill 10 in Mir Ali strike

By BILL ROGGIO, May 24, 2012

The US launched another drone airstrike in Pakistan's Taliban-controlled tribal agency of North Waziristan. The strike is the second in two days.

The unmanned Predators or the more heavily armed Reapers fired a pair of missiles at a compound in the Mir Ali area of North Waziristan in the middle of the night, Geo News reported. Pakistani intelligence officials said that 10 "militants" were killed in the strike, according to Reuters.

No senior al Qaeda, Taliban, or members of allied terrorist groups operating in the area have been reported killed in the strike. Mir Ali is known to host a variety of foreign and domestic Pakistani terror groups.

Today's strike in Mir Ali is the second in two days, and the third strike this month. The US has carried out just 15 strikes so far this year. Three took place in South Waziristan, and 12 in North Waziristan. Eight of the strikes in North Waziristan have been executed in or around Miramshah, and two have been in Mir Ali.

US drone ‘kills four militants’ in North Waziristan

AFP | 14 mins ago

MIRAMSHAH: A US drone attack early Saturday killed at least four militants in a northwestern Pakistani tribal district bordering Afghanistan, security officials said.

The attack took place at a house near Miramshah, the main town of North Waziristan tribal district, a known hide-out of Taliban and al Qaeda linked militants, the Pakistani officials said.

“A US drone fired two missiles at a house and at least four militants were killed,” a senior security official told AFP.

“The identities of the militants killed in the drone strike were not immediately known,” he said.

Two other officials confirmed the attack.

Residents said they were woken up by the sound of low flying aircraft and the noise of the missile strike.

“The house caught fire after missiles hit it and militants immediately cordoned off the area and were searching in the rubble,” a local tribesman told AFP, asking not to be named.

Washington considers Pakistan’s semi-autonomous northwestern tribal belt the main hub of Taliban and al Qaeda militants plotting attacks on the West and in Afghanistan.

North Waziristan is a stronghold of the Haqqani network – Afghan insurgents blamed for a series of spectacular attacks on Western targets in Kabul – and Pakistani Taliban chief Hakimullah Mehsud.

Islamabad has been resisting US pressure to launch a sweeping offensive against militants in the area.

Pakistan says the missile attacks are counter-productive, violate its sovereignty, kill civilians and fuel anti-US sentiment.

It was the fifth US drone strike reported in Pakistan since parliament in March demanded an end to such attacks.

Relations between the uneasy allies plunged into crisis after US air strikes killed 24 Pakistani soldiers on November 26.

The incident prompted Islamabad to shut its Afghan border to Nato supplies and evict US personnel from an airbase reportedly used as a hub for drones.

Despite Pakistani criticism US officials are believed to consider the drone attacks too useful to stop them altogether. They have argued that drone strikes are a valuable weapon in the war against al Qaeda and other militants.

Pakistan signaled last week that it was prepared to end the Nato blockade, but hopes of clinching a deal appeared to break down over the cost of transit rights.

US President Barack Obama snubbed Pakistan at a Nato summit this week, only seeing President Asif Ali Zardari in passing and voicing frustration with Islamabad.

Pakistan has been incensed by Washington’s refusal to apologise for the November air strikes and US officials have so far rejected Pakistani proposals to charge several thousand dollars for each alliance truck crossing the border.

The blockade has forced Nato to rely on longer, more expensive routes through Russia and Central Asia, even as it plans a large-scale withdrawal of combat troops and hardware from Afghanistan by the end of 2014.

According to an AFP tally, 45 US missile strikes were reported in Pakistan’s tribal belt in 2009, the year Obama took office, 101 in 2010 and 64 in 2011.

The New America Foundation think-tank in Washington says drone strikes have killed between 1,715 and 2,680 people in Pakistan in the past eight years.
