Sedef Shipyard sells floating dry dock to Austal USA

Austal USA on Monday revealed it has ordered a new dry dock that it said will become the centerpiece of its new repair facility in San Diego.

Construction on the dry dock began Monday at Sedef Shipyard in Turkey, and the completed vessel is scheduled to be fully operational in Austal’s new West Coast yard by August 2023.

The dry dock will have a 9,000 light ton lifting capacity. It will be 531 feet (162 meters) long, 154 feet (47 meters) wide, with a maximum draft of 36 feet (11 meters).

“This dry dock will greatly enhance Austal’s ability to provide the Navy and other customers a highly capable full-service repair facility located in the homeport of San Diego,” Austal USA President Rusty Murdaugh said. “It will be invaluable to our customers, and we are eager to satisfy their growing demand for West coast repair facilities that include dry docks.”

by end of 2030 Turkey should field the most powerful naval fleet in Eastern Mediterranean

Italy and Spain are ahead but Turks should surpass them by the middle of the next decade

Western Mediterranean should be accessible by 2040

The whole Mediterranean, alongside France.

The current level of readiness and technical strength of the Turkish navy makes the whole Mediterranean already accessible. The strategic aim is not to remain a Mediterranean navy.

The Turkish navy is currently in the preparation phase. Within the framework of the 2033 strategic vision, there is a state-of-art navy target that has fully domestic production capabilities, fully adapted to modern warfare conditions with newwly concepts, and has the power projection capability. By the 2030s, the expansion phase will begin.

We continue the localization of critical systems with the REIS class.

We made the new deliveries of the bow section “Section 50”, which includes submarine torpedo tubes, to Gölcük Shipyard Command.

These two Section 50, will be integrated into our submarines, AYDIN REİS and SEYDİ ALI REİS.

Playing an important role in the development of many systems and software, especially the new generation command and control system, HAVELSAN also completed its deliveries for the SEYDİ ALI REİS submarine in the first month of 2022.

more on that,picture,I realised that there should be one more sonnar is mine detection sonar-mates,is also on porfolio of the aselsan.There is two firms on sonar systems one is aselsan-armelsan the other is meteksan.Is it possible to feed two companies-actually three-,lets look at the projects on horizon or finished;
meteksan=finished ones milgem 4 ship
on projects,pak babur class corvette 4 ships,pak frigate 6?,ukranian milgem 4?,open sea patrol boat TN 10? preveze class type 209 moderniztion program 4 subs,gür class type 209 modernization 4 subs
We can assume that on sub sonar systems meteksan will be more experienced than aselsan so STM 500 submarine should go to meteksan but the situation is not clear there is also Pakistan interest for STM 500 and Dearsan coastal submarine for turkmenistan,and finally MILDEN project
Aselsan 8 sub with assist sonar is active and one mates sonar on one TN ship,projets=,4 barbaros class meko 200 ship modernization fersah sonar system,4 ship istif class-may be more,TF 2000 and on the seeker of orka and tork,akya so I think feeding of both company is possible with the export of new ships
