Similarites between Pakistani and Chinese cultures

First of all, why do indians always stick their butt in everything? This thread is about Pakistan and China, do you see the word "india" anywhere in this thread?

Yes I see the word India in this thread now.

I just wanted to start a thread to see what cultural similarities are shared between Pakistani and Chinese people. I know some general stuff about Chinese culture, but would like to get in-depth and just have people share some cool and interesting things about each other. I'll start.

:china:

During Chinese the New Year, Chinese married couples or elders give money or (Lai-See) to young kids. I found this totally interesting, since after Ramadan is over we have a Muslim/Pakistani holiday (Eid), where we do the same thing. It's not in red-packets per say, but the concept is the same.

Ramzan is a holy month while New Year is just New year, though the concept of giving children money is the same as our Eid.

No similarity between Pakistan & China, both are different country with difference cultures.

Are you sure about that? I think it all depends what part of China/Chinese culture you are talking about since China is made up of different Ethnic groups, although majority Chinese are Han however different parts of China also have different ethnic groups, for example Pakistan's northern area that borders Chinese province of Xinjiang shares similar culture with the Uighurs, heck there are even Pakistani Uighurs (though there aren't as many as there are in Xinjiang).

There is a type of flat bread that we eat in Pakistan and its available in every part of Pakistan, its called Naan, Uighurs also eat Naan, the same goes with Kebabs, our dresses (Shalwar Kameez is a Turkish/Persian origin dress BTW), the Hena that women put on their hands during celebrations, and the biggest similarity is our religion Islam. Pakistanis can relate to the Han Chinese because both value family culture, morals, and ethics for example respecting your elders, showing hospitality to your guests, etc.

I'm sure even india can relate to parts of China/Chinese culture in some ways since india and China have had many cultural exchanges over the past several thousand years.

Secondly, no where in the Quran does it say we must give money to children on Eid. This is our Pakistani culture that we give children money on Eid day. Middle Eastern and African Muslim countries do not do the same. In Islamic teachings, giving a fat well-fed kid 100 rupees is not Zakat. Giving a poor hungry malnourished child 1000 rupees is Zakat.

Back to topic:

Both Pakistani and Chinese cultures teach us to respect our elders. We dont throw our parents out of the house when they trurn 65 like many western countries do. Both cultures believe in extended family system, where grandparents, parents, brothers, and sisters all live in the same house even uncles aunts and cousins sometimes.

And even though Pakistan today is a Muslim country with the vast majority of the population being Muslims, the land of Pakistan has a Buddhist past, and we have many ancient Buddhist statues and ancient Buddhist stupas found in our land.

Hope you will not say that Buddhism originated in Pakistan

Pakistan's Baltistan region in the North comprises of essentially Tibetan people, & the Balti language spoken in Pakistan is a form of ancient Tibetan:

Then, Pakistan has plenty of Uighur people as well, that pertain to the Xinjiang region of China.

Sorry no offence, but your reasons are very childish.

Although this is going to sound cliche, I'd like to add kung-fu. Martial arts have been popular within Pakistan for quite some time.

no similarity. Except both want to develop locally produced jets, tanks, military equipment. And both say they want peace.
For culture, even indian and pakistani are more similar as compared to china and pakistan.

And India is the last country we would ever trust. The point is you dont need similarities in culture and language to be friends. You need trust and same interests to be friends.
