Shiv Sena smears black paint on Sudheendra Kulkarni's face to protest Pakistan politician's book lau

@nair Kulkarni was Advani's PA, but he is a total Adarsh liberal at heart.. I can say after following his tweets+election gyaan+articles in the last 1 year that this guy must have been one of the biggest reasons why Advani could never become the PM.

With advisors like him, who needs Rahul Gandhi?

LK screwed up heavily by making him PA & privy to the BJP's secrets.
--------------------------------------

Absolutely wrong to attribute that to Kulkarni...... If a PA could make a PM then Rahul Gandhi would have been our PM by now.......

heard spokespersons of other parties saying this is an attack on secular India.
Spokespersons from other parties are not necessarily blessed with the quality of honesty to speak the truth.

That's the problem. We only have hypocrites. Makes it easy to laugh at their actions & continue with more of the same. The hypocrisy makes it impossible to take these objections seriously.

Unfortunately, these hypocrites are making thing worse. Mamata, who overnight became an admirer of a pakistani singer and freedom to sing, certainly can put any one in jail for drawing a harmless cartoon or apprehend someone as maoist for asking the reason for hiking fertilizer prices. All these despicable lot belong to the same herd, no doubt.

Spokespersons from other parties are not necessarily blessed with the quality of honesty to speak the truth.

Even if they are honest, their political positions doesnt allow them to be one...

I see a nice churn happening in India from prior to last year's election to today.

It will continue.

It is not polarization as the redrawing of old lines.

A pendulum swing.

The development and emergence of a new mean.

The next elections will help reinforce that mean.

Or the pendulum will swing again, some more.

And the process shall repeat.

Cheers, Doc

I wish all these heroes speaking out against the Sena(media+intellectuals) had spoken out against the massive discrimination against Taslima Nasreen which she has received all over India & especially when MIM goondas lead by Akbaruddin Owaisi nearly killed her at a book function a few years back.

Even today they have threatened to kill her if she returns to hyderabad.

Absolutely wrong to attribute that to Kulkarni...... If a PA could make a PM then Rahul Gandhi would have been our PM by now.......

PA gives advice! Netas depend heavily upon their PAs to manage their lives+which leaders visit them+give gyaan, when the PA gives wrong advice/gyaan especially on election matters, then it hurts political prospects..
Kulkarini did not advice Advani properly on election matters , thus LK got screwed.

Also many people don't know this, But kulkarni played an active role in deciding who got tickets in 2009 LS
Many Hindutavavadis/Sadhus/Sadhvis who had a good chance of winning seats in 2009 were denied tickets by the BJP because of Kulkarni, moderate/secular guys were put up in such seats, but they had weak chances of winning & in most cases the opposition one.

Yeah..... But then Modi is doing little to stop these headlines, which is giving confidence to the likes of shiv sena

The Shiv Sena has no love lost for Modi. They are just like Rahul Gandhi & the Congress, they will take India down rather than give Modi the opportunity to change the environment & make them history. Do you seriously believe that the RSS, VHP, Bajrang Dal & the like are not aware of Modi's track record in Gujarat? How he listens to no one once he is sure of his ground? All these incidents are to make sure that he never gets that kind of a grip.

This guy was a bjp supporter right?
The extent of Indian society seem to be getting intolerant in the last year or so must be of a concern to the more balanced citizens there

Even if they are honest, their political positions doesnt allow them to be one...
Nair, if political necessities compel one to keep their moral conscience sleeping that necessarily makes them dishonest by character.

.

Of course, they have very little to do with Modi. I was pointing out what the headlines will scream......

Not incorrect.Except that this will get caught in the rest of the drama that has been going on.

There is no drama, honestly no one gives a toss.

 Sometimes I reckon we quantify the seriousness of an issue based on the number of threads made on PDF. Based on the number of threads made, Man lynched for consuming beef in India is the most serious issue in the world right now, scores dying daily in the civil wars raging across the middle east not so much!

That is the risk of having a party like BJP in power..... To make it worse, the way other political parties plays their politics...... One way you can say BJP is honest..... Because they openly speak their mind and tell that they are a pro Hindu organisation..... Where as the other guys have hidden agenda... and they play the religious card (without making it obvious) much more than BJP does....

I agree to an extent, but the important point is, this has been the case even before.... But now this get reported often.....

Little Nunni Syndrome.

These intolerants were always around.

But deep inside caves and hidden under stones.

They believe the time is ripe now to wave their ugly dicks in everyone's faces.

Little realizing that there is very little to wave.

The issue lies in the rule of law and the state remaining strangely silent while this happens.

Its a period of everyone getting to know everyone else, afresh.

The Muslims and other reliable villains have been pushed to the periphery.

There are new badasses in town.

The little nunnis remain strangely similar though. Be they green or saffron. Strangely small, and virulently active to compensate.

And you believe Shiv Sena does? After drubbing they got in Maharashtra assembly elections looks like they have completely lost their mind.

MUMBAI: Top diplomat Sudheendra Kulkarni said on Monday that Shiv Sainiks smeared black ink or paint on his face to protest the launch this evening of a book on foreign policy by Khurshid Kasuri, Pakistan's former foreign minister.

Kulkarni, who is scheduled to be moderating a discussion at the launch of "Neither a Hawk, nor a Dove" said the incident occurred as he was leaving for his office and while he was in his car near Kings Circle.

"The ink attack on Kulkarni is a mild reaction from Sena, this is not ink but the blood of our Soldiers," said Shiv Sena parliamentarian Sanjay Raut, after the incident.

The Mumbai police said that following the incident with Kulkarni, it is holding a meeting to review the law and order arrangements for the event.

The Shiv Sena had asked officials at the Nehru Planetarium, the venue for the book launch, to call off the function. The Shiv Sena warned that the event will be disrupted if it isn't canceled because of Pakistan's support for terrorism.

After the

In response Devendra Fadnavis, Maharashtra chief minister, had yesterday assured "total security" for the event. "For all foreigners, diplomats or foreign dignitaries who are allowed on a proper visa in our country, it's the responsibility of our government to provide them security. Hence Mr Kasuri and the programme will be provided total security," the chief minister had earlier said. "But this does not mean that we endorse all his views. No anti-India propaganda will be tolerated through any such programme, and if found so (sic), the organizers would be held responsible," the chief minister added.

Last week, despite assurances of protection from Fadnavis, a concert by Pakistani singer Ghulam Ali was cancelled by the organizers following threats by the Sena
Maharashtra's BJP spokesperson, Madhav Bhandari, said the party will look into the incident and take appropriate action against those involved.
