Saddam Hussein - The Truth (Documentary)

whether you like this guy or not, he knew how to rule Iraq a country that needs a brutal and criminal leader to keep it a united nation. The real problem started with Kuwait when its Emir thought he's smart enough and overproduced oil till oil prices went down while Iraq was in a real need for money to rebuild and pay for its citizens after the devastating War against Khomeini.

What would have happened if Kuwait cut its oil production?

If history had unfolded differently this brilliant and talented man might still have ruled a prosperous and united Iraq.

The Queen he sits with and her family does not even have half the seniority that the Hashemites have. Hell, make that 1/3.

Had he still lived and ruled he would have celebrated his 78th year on the throne this April. As a 82 year old.

Since that senseless massacre by those criminal and uneducated masses, Iraq has been cursed, bar very short (overall) periods of success.

Forgive but never forget!

The curse is even recognized by most Iraqis that comment below relevant videos or social media and forums.

Even they are aware of it!

Funnily/tragicomically the same murderers met the exact same fate just 5 years later!

Gamal Abdel Nasser and his useless propaganda had a lot to do with many of the ills in that period and this particular criminal and savage incident.

Anyway Al-Douri for President!

I hope that he is based in KSA and looked after. A real patriot who know how to deal with unwanted Mullah's from next door and traitors within.

Saddam Hussein was an idiot who ended up destroying his own country in the long term.

He had the world's 4th largest/strongest military at his disposal in the early 1980s. His air force had 500+ fighter jets, and his army had 4000+ main battle tanks and 4500+ artilleries.

With that kind of military, he could have annexed the entire western side of the Persian Gulf with little or no resistance, and the Westerners/Americans would've most likely done nothing about it since they were more concerned about Soviet expansionism than anything else at that time. In fact, they would've probably been okay with Saddam annexing the Gulf Arab states, provided he promised to act as a bulwark against the Soviet Union.

Iraq could have (and probably should have) been the wealthiest country in the world in terms of oil and natural gas reserves. It could've undergone extensive industrialization and become a global power in a short space of time.

Instead, Saddam foolishly decided fight an unwinnable 8-year-long war against a 2500 year old civilization-state such as Iran. He was out of his damn mind if he really thought he was going to beat Iran. That's akin to North Korea thinking that it could defeat China. It was simply never going to happen.

Saddam exhausted his country in an unwinnable war, and then he made the grave mistake of falling into America's trap by invading Kuwait after he foolishly thought the Americans won't intervene.

In my opinion, the best leader Iraq has ever had was Abd al-Karim Qasim.

Unlike all other Iraqi leaders in history, Abd al-Karim Qasim was the only Iraqi head of state who actively and genuinely attempted to unite Shias, Sunnis, Arabs, and Kurds into a single, unified Iraqi identity.

Qasim was an Iraqi nationalist above all else. Yes, he believed in Arab nationalism as well, albeit his idea of Arab nationalism differed greatly from Egypt's. But above all else, Qasim was an Iraqi nationalist. He believed that Iraq was the successor state of many post-Islamic and pre-Islamic dynasties and political entities that were established in Mesopotamia, including the Babylonian Empire.

He believed that Iraq was not just an Arab state, but an Arabo-Kurdish state. His flag of Iraq included Kurdish and Assyrian symbols and colors.

Simply put, Qasim was the real father of the Iraqi nation.

And what happened to him, you ask? He was killed by the stupid Baathists.

The Baathists destroyed Iraq, and they're currently destroying Syria.

Those two countries could have been the best in the entire Middle East had the likes of Iraq's Qasim and Syria's Quwatli remained in power.

Baathism was the biggest curse that befell the Arab World, and it paved way to the rise of radical Islamic terrorist groups such as ISIS.

America has never favored the politics of annexation and wether it was annexing Kuwait or annexing Iran...this was a big bold red line which Americans and the west did not accecpt..Saddam would have bought better negotiating terms if teamed up with entire GCC to exert pressure on Kuwait to pull back from surge in oil production...the real conflict started with Kuwaitis started dumping so much oil in the market that it begin to collapse oil prices..and all GCC countries including KSA had a problem with that..but Iraq invasion of Kuwait set Saudi and Kuwait in the same alliance..otherwise Iraq would have been able to get a upper hand by alliance with other GCC stated to whom he was heavily indebted for war funding...

America had no problem with its World War II ally, China, annexing Tibet and the short-lived East Turkestan Islamic Republic. It also had no problem with Turkey annexing Northern Cyprus. And, lately, American policymakers such as Kissinger have come out and stated that the US must accept that Crimea belongs to Russia.

Yes, America would have accepted an Iraqi annexation of the Gulf Arab states, provided Iraq would have promised to continue countering Soviet expansionism in the Persian Gulf region.

Saddam was quite simply a plonker of the highest order.

If only Qasim had continued ruling over Iraq. He might've transformed Iraq into a modern country with a strong national identity.

This video not only depicts Saddam's life history, but also highlights how these rulers treat their people. They are blatant liars, may it be Saddam or Bush. It shows how USA interferes with the affairs of other countries. It gives a clear view that how tyrants are brought to power and how they are allowed to mistreat their subjects. Crux of matter is that it is not Saddam who is responsible for what Iraq today is, it is US. Not only Iraq, Afghanistan, Pakistan, Syria, Egypt and the list goes on.

Saddam Husein was a real hero. Unfortunately his nation even his soldiers did not see this and many betrayed him by taking side with the colonists.
Today they know it but too late... They swim in blood, tears..

Back to supporting genocidal maniacs are you, Al-Hitler? Tut tut. But he is also a senior ISIS commander, so maybe I should call you Al-Baghdadi? Which do you prefer?

America has never favored the politics of annexation
Proven wrong in numerous times throughout history when they take over lands in the Pacific. Besides, they supported Saddam in his (failed) war of annexation.

Saddam Husein was a real hero.
He and his buddy Al-Douri were scumbags, pure and simple. Do you call people who use chlorine, sarin and VX gas heroes?

He was the biggest incompetent moron in history!
A failing state like Iran not only contained him but defeated him..

kuwait was a bait.. a trap for saddam.. such arabs did all this mess in ME for themselves in game of thrones mentality.. when will the arabs see that they are destroying themselves.. its a matter of time and the rich arabs will face the same shit.. but who will cry after them? no one..

This picture explains why Saddam was a true leader of Iraq. People who dont see what is in the pictures must be blind.
Some people may hate him because Saddam was a secular muslim.

The only truth about Saddam is that he was a piece of garbage and he is now where he belongs, under dirt. Go tell to random Iraqis in Iraq that Saddam was a good leader and they will slap you in the face so hard you won't even know what happened.
