When Ishaq Dar became finance minister, he issued aggressive statements pertaining to IMF which were completely unnecessary. And after many months of failed negotiations with IMF, IShaq Dar has not yet been fired. Many people in media were wondering why Ishaq Dar is being retained despite of his disastrous decisions and why is it taking unusually long this time to secure an IMF deal?

Now some twitter accounts which have disclosed some insider information in past, have divulged that Isahq Dar is sabotaging IMF deal on purpose. By delaying IMF deal and keeping economy on ventilator, he is pressuring GHQ to allow safe return of Nawaz Sharif. Each time there is a chance of an IMF deal, Dar throws a wrench in the process to make sure PDM setup does not out live its usefulness. Dar issuing statements linking IMF deal with strategic assets also seems to be an effort to put GHQ on back foot.

Lol on one hand they cry that IMF is being unfair and in other they do gimmicks like this.

On one hand gov is fighting for survival through loans, and in the other company is fighting for survival from khan. Interesting!

They are abusing funds likes crazy...they are not serious about economy ..

Never attribute to malice that which is adequately explained by stupidity. In this case, Dar knows he can't satisfy the transparency demanded by IMF since his entire career was built on fraudulent accounting. On the glass half-filled view of the situation, the fact that Pakistan's economy is still standing on two legs may mean that survival is possible without IMF assistance.

He is definitely succeeding in halting any IMF deal. Either due to his boundless stupidity or, vile nature. Even time tested friends are refusing to lend a hand.

Comments below the tweet by Pakistanis are eye opening.
yes, i warned about that some month ago in an other thread in Iran section. And in my opinion it is not bad meant by KSA. KSA and other arab states give so much help to Pakistan, but nothing is endless except God. So me think they know that Pakistan can make it, want to give a kind of "helloohoo!". I also think so. And all what is hinder Pakistan is this political chaos. If this is not solved soon, then it could go really bad for Pakistan, in my opinion even can split in pieces. But i am no Pakistani, cant say "do this!" or "vote them!" and such things. You all have to sit together and talk about Pakistan and about yourself, where you all wanne go, how Pakistan should be, look like, and how to get there.

Nawaz Sharif has always been vindicative against Pakistani people since 1999. He has sworn to teach a lesson to this nation. Dar is his family and will do the same.

PMLN have demonstrated time and time again, that they are willing to sacrifice the country for their own interests. It does not surprise me in the least, that Nawaz Sharif will allow Pakistan to default if he is not allowed to return. The real issue is that why is the establishment, the so-called protectors of Pakistan, allowing this to happen?

Can't the establishment threaten PMLN with consequences in case of default? Can't they punish PMLN the same way they are punishing PTI? If the Pakistan Army is not protecting Pakistan, then who are they protecting?

Are they not worried about having enough funds for weapons procurement or even to maintain salaries of active duty soldiers? Are they not worried about funding for strategic programs? If the establishment has literally sold the country, then what point is there in having such a treacherous institution? If the army chief is essentially committing treason, then what point is there in having a chain of command?

What did you expect from dar,he has been tried and tested many times.

IMF has sabotaged itself by overstepping the boundaries of its own code of conduct. The politicization of the monetary fund is an unfortunate prospect for the developing countries of the world.
It's our fault we went to imf.if you don't do as they wish then they don't pay you.
