Hello and Salam to all doctors, classified and non classified, GDMOs

THIS POST IS FOR GUIDELINE TO ME AND ALL DOCTORS WHO ARE SEEKING KNOWLEDGE FROM PAKISTAN ARMY DOCTORS:

Respected all,
I am doctor by profession, recently completed my house job and got registration with Pakistan Medical and Dental Council and fortunately got selected in 189C batch of Punjab Public Service Commission in civil service as permanent Medical Officer. I also registered for 38th Batch of GDMOs/ PTC and alhamdolillah got passed in Preliminaries, initial interviews and medical, fittness test and GHQ interview and Medical Test. As doctors are exempted from ISSB and also from PMA training, they are given special BMT in AMC, Abbottabad. I hope to get a call letter sooner or later inshaALLAH from GHQ as well for this.

My aim to join Army was to complete my post graduate training in MCPS or FCPS. And as you also know that PTC bond is for 2 years and GDMO Bond is for 5 years. I came to know recently from the mouth of some serving army doctor that "Army will not let you go for any kind of postgraduation, nor for any test with preparation in these 5 years. They will post you here and there and never let it happen that you could go for post graduation. Also if you are lucky enough to pass FCPS-I exam in any attempt, then you belong to classified group, although classified rank will be given only after completion of FCPS, and that group of classified specialist are not allowed to leave army until and unless payment of heavy fine...." (Major R******)
I want to ask whether it is true or not. Whether Army would not allow any kind of post graduation, or if we are lucky enough to pass FCPS-I then they signed us a bond of 20 year army service or unless otherwise heavy dept?

Question: I want to go for GDMO five year bond type and after 2 year, which normally heard that they allow its doctor to go for any exam, i want to avail MCPS training in General Medicine or Pediatric Medicine. So they signed me some another kind of bond at start of training as well or MCPS training is not considered as classified training and I could still leave Army after 5 years bond fill of GDMO since MCPS doctor is also considered as GDMO and not a classified specialist. also they will not fine me any heavy debt for leaving army after 5 year and completion of MCPS"

Kindly all old members as well as doctors already working in army do reply me as it will help us a lot and all confusion of doctors regarding joining army are removed, since "there is 56% deficient vacuum in this year in recruitment of doctors this year (Lt Col A*****) "

So you want join Army but dont want to SERVE it?

Joining the army so that you can completet your FCPS is not a noble aim, i must say.

Anywaz, though i am not clear the bond after becoming a specialist, but no, the army wont stop you from completing your specialization. Yes, it will surely will 'make' you serve it by posting you 'here and there'. Still, if you would have that thing in you, you can surely complete FCPs even then as many thousands have done it despite being posted here and there.

thank you sir, but FCPS is not my intention....I just ask only for my own information and for all those who wanted to join Pakistan Army but hesitate only because of this point.... since many people asked me about this so I cleared it from you so that i can talk with such people who tell me that "Joining Army after MBBS is just a big mistake and nothing else to ruin your future..."
