The second phase of the United Arab Emirates-funded military hospital in Pakistan has been completed. The hospital is built in Rawalpindi at the cost of US$108 million.

The opening ceremony was attended by Chief of Army Staff General Qamar Javed Bajwa, UAE Ambassador to Pakistan Isa Abdullah Basha Al Nuaimi, Director of the UAE's Pakistan Assistance Programme (UAEPAP) Abdullah Khalifa Al Ghafli, number of senior Pakistani Army officers, senior government officials and the hospital staff.

General Bajwa and other guests toured the hospital's different sections, including the outpatient clinics, specialist clinics, emergency unit, pharmacies, laboratories, radiology section and the blood bank.

General Bajwa also stopped at the operation theatres, inpatient wards, lecture halls and the hospital's control rooms.

It is one of the projects under way in Pakistan under the directives of President of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Emirates official news agency WAM reported.

During the opening ceremony, General Qamar Bawja delivered a speech in which he thanked President UAE Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan and Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan for their continuous support to Pakistan.

While, the UAE Ambassador to Pakistan Isa Abdullah Basha Al Nuaimi underlined UAE's keenness to support Pakistan through several humanitarian and development projects.

Director of the UAE's Pakistan Assistance Programme (UAEPAP) Abdullah Khalifa Al Ghafli said the US$108 million hospital, one of the key projects carried out by UAEPAP, was co-funded by the Abu Dhabi Fund for Development (ADFD) and the Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan Foundation.

The 1,000-bed hospital has a capacity to cater for 6,000 patients daily. It has 16 fully-equipped operation theatres to perform 50 major surgeries per day.

The projects are also supported by Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed and Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Presidential Affairs Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed.

If FDI would remain increasing the foreign relations would be strong too

after the diplomatic problems with UAE concerning yemen issue the current senario suggests UAE has came closer to pakistan.

Now, this is another fine example of how GCC countries have been supporting Pakistan and showing their gratitude while Iran has only sponsored terrorism and used Pakistani nationals for terrorism in the region in the name of the sect.
Can any pro-Iranian point out a single such project that Iran did in Pakistan?
However, people of Pakistan see the top terrorists in Pakistan bearing Iranian passport and nationality.

Just stay away from Back stabbers.
You mean iran and india since they support KY and UB and many other terrorists.

Pakistan don't needs GCC hospitals Pakistan needs GCC to stop putting our people in hospital. The 2 days ago attack on Chaman border placed 42 injured civilians in hospitals now every one knows the man who ordered the attack the commander Abdual Razzaq is how close to UAE. So please help me here UAE and India are the two main countries that control Northern alliance and yet our borders are not secure? Any ways if you are a Pakistani you need to open your eyes my friend.

That's an interesting fact. I partially agree with you.

ISLAMABAD:
Afghanistan’s government has not yet accepted senior UAE security officials’ repeated requests to question the Kandahar police chief and his associates about last month’s deadly bombing which killed five Emirati diplomats and seven other people. UAE Ambassador Juma Mohammed Abdullah al Kaabi and Kandahar Governor Dr Humayun Azizi were among the scores injured in the attack.

Officials had later confirmed that the explosives were taken inside the governor’s compound, a comprehensive security zone, and were hidden in a sofa. No one could have entered the governor’s office without a thorough search and high-level clearance.

No group has claimed responsibility for the attack so far. Two UAE teams, comprising senior security officials, had been in Kandahar and Kabul to investigate the bombing that shocked the Gulf state.

Dubai police blames Afghans for Kandahar atrocity

“UAE security officials had sought permission to question [Kandahar police chief] General Abdul Raziq and some senior Afghan security officials but President Ashraf Ghani did not accept the request,” an Emirati diplomatic source, privy to the visits of the UAE investigators, told The Express Tribune on Sunday. The source said the UAE officials wanted to question the Kandahar police chief as he was directly responsible for the security of the diplomats.

“The [UAE] security personnel wanted to know how explosives were taken inside the compound and who had allowed the people to enter the guesthouse during the high profile visit. The investigation will be incomplete until UAE security officials question Gen Raziq and officials close to him,” the source said.

“Gen Raziq had left the guest house just five to 10 minutes before the bomb ripped through the building. He had also arrived at the guesthouse before the arrival of the governor,” they said.

Abdul Hanan Muneeb, who has been appointed as acting Kandahar governor, has not yet shared the result of the bombing investigation and whether it has uncovered the perpetrators who was behind it.

Pakistan - UAE ties are more deeper than they look like, other than UAE sponsored projects in pakistan, we should not forget about 1.2 million pakistanies work in UAE and 1.9 million in KSA and these Pakistanies sending back about 10.5 billion $ a year, every country watch its interests in a diplomatic way, being a nation we have an attitude that suddenly we become hyper and start talking those things which we dont need to

Indeed. Iran, along with Afghanistan have always disappointed Pakistan.

We have Iranian loyalists who are trying to be more Iranian than iranian themselves...They start abusing Pakistan even if there is aggression from Iran,so admiring something coming positive from Arabs is very far fetched...

Just stay away from Back stabbers.
If giving jobs and providing funds for construction projects is backstabbing, then you are absolutely right.
I have a friend, more loyal to Iranian mullah regime than mullah himself. Currently he's doing job in UAE, but he never forgets to unleash his fury upon UAE as per will of Iranian mullah. Despite all his loyalty, mullah is unable to provide him a single job and to many other like him, who are more Iranian than Iranian themselves.
I wish, I could see some simillar projects from Iran in Pakistan and not projects like Kulbhushan and Uzair Baloch.
I wish, I could understand meaning of backstabbing.
