Pakistani doctors are amongst the best in the world: President USMLE

The Best Heart Hospital in the World and in fact the largest number of surgeries in a year

Mr. Nair, thank you for tagging me. I generally like and appreciate your posts. But to say that the "Best Heart Hospital in the World" is in India, is a false statement. The US invented the DaVinci robot system now being used across the globe and in India obviously. We've been using it for like a Decade and the world is getting it now. No other hospital is better than the Mayo Clinic, John Hopkins, Harvard Medical and Research, St. Judes, Beth Israel, Baylor, The Baptist health system, etc, etc. I can write a few pages on all these as I've spent time in this industry.

Just like that, our Indian doctor friends are good doctors, but they aren't any "better" than my Jewish doctor friends or Muslim doctor friends from Pakistan, Turkey, etc. I thought I'd clarify the comment on "the best heart hospital in the world". Outside of this one post, I love your posts, so please continue to share the knowledge, images and picture. Thank you.

MBBS is useless if you to work in America

Sir, its primarily because the American medicine system is about 1 decade more advanced than the rest of the world. So you have to study and pass the USMLE exams and come up to speed on how the US medical system works.

I was reading an important article in a research paper by the American Heart Association. It was about foreign medicine and protocols and they mentioned many countries in there. I was surprised to see that in Pakistan, the doctors put patients on angiotensin medications as the first (and probably the only) line of defense. While blood pressure is extremely common in Pakistan and that too, due to the diet. So there is no protocol to put patients at the risk of high blood pressure on Thiazides as the first line of defense. Which not only helps control the blood pressure, it alleviates certain heart failure conditions from building up. But they jump to level three and the patients build immunity to it and guess what? They still get heart attacks earlier than their comparison given in that study.

So India, Pakistan and all other countries do produce smart people with medicine knowledge and experience, but they still have to learn where healthcare is in the US, before starting to practice anything. Thanks

Zimbabwe frankly reigns supreme in all corners of healthcare and medicine.

Good progress though Pakistan!

But is it enough to catch up to Zimbabwe?

Only time will tell...

Shhh... No tears. Only dreams now...

Rarely some follow the protocol despite the fact they know that Thaizide(though i read that it is associated for increased risk of Type 2 Diabetes) should be the first line.

Let me tell you something one of my relative was put on Hydrochlorothiazde+Losartan by a cardiologist without any single investigation with just a positive history of hypertension.Earlier this year i was interested in the case and told my cousin to do all the related investigations(RFTs,TFT's etc) and fasting blood sugar(which was 117 or in Pre diabetic stage perhaps due to thiazides) so that i could reach the possible cause. He had raised Thyroid hormones and Decreased TSH.Took him to a Physician who put him on a methimazole and can you believe that its been few months his BP is almost normal without taking anti hypertensives.

So this is something i did in my final year but the cardiologist prescribed him antihypertensive without any single investigation.

This is the situation.

Ok.
Why 40000 to 50000 Pakistanis come to India every year for medical procedures even though they have the worlds best doctors ??
These best pakistani doctors are in usa thats why they come to india

Because Medical treatment in India is cheap compare to Pakistan. Your drugs prices are atleast half the price in Pakistan

My cousin did his MBBS from Shifa medical college (self finance) and now he is in US driving taxi. Isn't awesome :D

Because he fail in medical license. In US you have to give exam to get practice license

Quality and experience of a surgeon in a particular procedure is more important than the facilities. Some of the prominent Indian private hospitals are like a mini UN.
Their are even seperate waiting rooms for foreigners as their numbers are massive .

And pakistani surgeons are one of best to steal your hearts .

a drug acting on kidney tubules causes DM ???? How????

Well as per various studies it is associated with increased risk of Type II DM.

Google it or i will post it when from laptop. The part i wanted to explain with my post is that even a cardiologist put patients on Antihypertensive without proper investigations to rule out the cause.
