Perhaps this had something to do with the bombings that took place in Pakistan's border town with Iran that killed almost 30 Hazara Shi'as (Pakistani citizens, not Afghan).

Pakistani and Iranian border guards exchange fire
By Aamir Latif, Monday, June 09, 2014

ISLAMABAD – Rockets and mortar were exchanged between border guards at Pakistan and Iran's shared border on Monday, Pakistani officials said.

Pakistan claimed they were responding to Iranian border guards propelling rockets into Pakistani territory.

“Iranian border guards fired 24 rockets, which fell 2 kilometers west of a security post,” said Khan Waseh, a spokesperson for the Frontier Constabulary paramilitary that handles security and border affairs in southwestern Baluchistan province.

Tensions have already been running high between the two neighboring Muslim states because of sectarian attacks on Shia Muslims in Pakistan.

Thirty Shia pilgrims were killed in twin suicide attacks in Taftan town near the border on Sunday night.

Iranian border forces fire rockets into Panjgur

QUETTA: Iranian border guards fired two dozen rockets into Balochistan province on Monday evening, however, no casualties were reported, an official said.

Spokesman for the Frontier Corps (FC) Khan Wasey told Dawn.com that Iranian border guards fired 24 rockets in Balochistan's Panjgur district.

He said the rockets landed some 2 kilometres away from an FC check post.

"Loud explosions rocked the entire Pak-Iran border area," Wasey said. He stated, however, that the FC personnel’s timely retaliation silenced the Iranian side and that there was no loss of life.

The local administration lodged a protest with the Iranian authorities regarding the latest skirmish.

Iranian border guards have repeatedly fired rockets into Pakistani territory, creating panic among people living in bordering areas with Iran.

Recent attacks by Iranian guards in Pakistani territory and the kidnapping of Iranian guards in February this year have undermined relations between the two neighbours.

This shall be interesting

But I just have to ask, since when did the Pakistani government care if those rockets created panic among the Baloch living in the bordering areas?

Why are the two brother countries (2 nations 1 soul) doing this to each other?

Wtf? LMAO... because Iran is a sovereign state and a nation, not a human being with a "soul". The only thing that states have are interests, thats it. There is no "brotherhood" among states. Please wake up, or just grow up.

Since always, go away with your anti-Pakistani propaganda.

Completely agree. There is no such thing as brotherhood in international politics, only mutual interests.

I am not anti-Pakistani in any way. But I know that the Baloch have been very troublesome for both sides so using that as an excuse is just adding extra salt and pepper.

The Balochis are Pakistani first and foremost. The ones causing trouble are the BLA and BRA, both of whom have very little support now a days. If anyone causes trouble for the Baloch population in Pakistan, it is no different if he were any other ethnicity.

Because of deep cultural, historic and religious ties, Iran and Pakistan are brothers.

Mutual, or competing.
Maybe Iran should talk to the government instead of firing rockets out and please, call them Pakistanis, not shias.
Whatever caused the Iranian side to fire into Pakistan obviously was not a decision made by the Iranian government, but something that particular unit decided themselves.

Really?

No !

During the Shah of Iran's time - We had good relations with quite a few Iranians coming to Pakistan with some even staying here like Shehki - the Iranian-Pakistani singer from the '60s but after the Iranian Revolution - No....we don't have very good relations; our relations are usually bad or neutral !

What is the general public sentiment in Iran pertaining to Pakistan currently ?
