Pakistan Navy Frigates & Destroyers Information pool

Bro - Are you a Pakistani ? :o:

A question, if you will : Is it possible and recommended to have coastal SAM units that can provide Air-Defense Coverage to our naval assets about 200-300 kms from the coast ?
Yes I am a Pakistani.

Yes, Pakistan's been looking for a suitable long-range air defence system for years, but lack of funding is an obstacle.

.
Honestly I don't think it'd be long before China can offer a VLS-based short-to-medium range SAM solution for export, e.g. something similar to MBDA CAMM or Sea Ceptor. Sure, the target market for these frigates may be content with FM-80, but a CAMM-like solution could immensely boost the value proposition.

As for the PN, they mentioned expressing interest in "an improved version of F-22P" in 2011.

Umm....It's not a matter of "how long" before China can offer one for export, but rather "how long" before the PN decides now, since China has already offered the DK-10 for export some time ago.

Translation from this official poster: According to AVIC's advertisement in 2012 Zhuhai International Airshow, the DK-10 (Surface to Air version of SD-10A) has a maximum engagement distance of 50km, operation height: 30m-20km, method of launch: VLS/slanted, mode of operation: INS+Datalink+active radar terminal guidance. Missile dimension: 5.054m(length)*0.203m/.0.260m(diameter)*0.752m(fin extended)/0.660m(fin retracted)

It is also believed that the domestic version of the DK-10 is to be quad-packed within 052D's standard VLS launcher.

Can Pakistan would plan to have a Submarine Fleet of:
07: 7000 Tons SSBN
11: 3500 Tons SSKs
11: 1750 Tons SSKs
21: 0875 Tons SSKs(Coastal)
11: 110-210 Tons Special Force Submarines(Carried by Tankers)
Rescue Submarines
Ocean Research Submarines

If Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Nepal and Bhutan join in with Pakistan.

Also the Surface Fleet should be Like:
11: 7000 Tons Destroyers/Cruisers
11: 3500 Tons Frigates
11: 1750 Tons Corvettes
30: 0875 Tons FAC
11: 17000 Tons Tankers
Other Surface Fleet.

As you're aware, Pakistan is broke, and it is broke across the board, not just financially or economically.

what about its replacement. please no more f22p at least in existing configuration.

I doubt any single F22P is less capable than a single Type 21s being retired. You are undervalueing the possibility of domestic production over the long run. Face realities.

sir surely F-22 is better than badr.....but that was 37 years back.... and now we need to look for next 30-35 years...F-22 lacks a formidable Air defense.....and given the capabilities of our adversaries, we need AD capable ships.... although we are short of budget.... but a guess baynunnah class corvette(1 bil for 6) with ESSM or if funds permits....formidable of RSN, or type 054a, would be way better F-22 and also the perry....which lacks the stealth capability....and is also a very old ship.... they might be bargain at 60-70 mil a piece but with genesis and weapons and other upgrade would easily run in 150 mil, compared that to a f-22 which is around 175 mil.

Have you seen ANY upgrading activity? No. You've actually made the argument for more F22P
