according to Chinese media reports, under naval modernization program, Pakistan is going to build six Type-022 Houbei stealth catamaran missile boats at Pakistan's state-owned shipbuilder Karachi Shipyard and Engineering Works (KSEW).

Going up in displacement open door of another debate but Tuo is almost same in weight of Azmat class,but equip with lot more,in all means its good design to consider

What is different between Type 022 and Azmat class.

Its better to replace Azmat class design with Tuo , up to 16missiles she can carry ,only 47 persons needed .

It looks like an upgraded Type-022. The weapon systems are not that bad still some other improvements and it could become a beast.

Don't you think if the forward gun is moved forward it could have some space for other weapon systems?

Replace the gun with this

Also chance its position forward to the place marked by arrows.

This would give provide enough space to add VLS system like hq 16 or Umkhonto.

Lets put some VLS here,

It seems VLS is the solution to EVERY single problem and threat for us.

1. VLS means Vertical Launch System and it is the missile insider those tubes that actually does the damage.
2. There are certain roles, certain objectives that are kept in mind when designing a warship. You cannot expect a navy cutter to be fitted with missiles to give the fleet advance air defense umbrella.

Azmat FAC is better than this and equal to PN requirements. Just it needs:
3-Cell Torpedoes Launcher on each sides
50/57 m.m Main Gun
Proper CIWS
instead of single boat it should have 2 of them.

the Azmat is slower, heavier and armed with the same amount of weapons
Its much more cost worthy to buy the Type 022.

I think Azmat may have longer range, but other than the addition of a 23mm automatic gun, it carries the same armaments and is larger by 2X. Additionally it is slightly slower to be sure (30kn vs 36kn) but im not sure that it is more expensive. The one major interesting thing though about Type 022 is that it is meant to operate with other Type 022 in group fashion. That will give it decent air protection given the main gun of the Type 022 is the AK630 CIWS (which Azmat also has, but in Type 022, it is on the front). With 5 or 6 Type 022 you would be able to create a wall of anti-air/anti-missile fire with numerous CIWS being brought to bear on few targets at 5km ranges. Additionally Type 022 can carry the HN-2 LACM (1800km range) which means theoretically it could be fitted to fire Babur LACM (which it really would not be useful for given PN's current capabilities) or, more importantly, be fitted to fire Zarb AShM (which is the 300km new Land based AShM for PN, likely a varient of C-602 missile) which gives it huge utility. With the advanced datalinks reported to be on the Type 022, the long range missile like Zarb, the Type 022 could fire from 250-300km away from the target and the missile would theoretically be guided by AWE&C like ZDK-03 Karakoram Eagle while the FAC speeds the heck out of the theater of battle. Given the small size and stealthy design of the Type-022, it would be well out of the range of return fire or even detection from IN or other intruders before it could fire off missiles like the Zarb and scoot back out to safety.

There are sources that tell that its price is from 14 million to 50 million, which is very cheap for a 200+ ton vehicle with a large amount of anti ship missiles, air defense, quick and stealthy.
