Pakistan, ISI "biggest threat" to India & Bangladesh : Bangladesh diplomat

Tagore was an indian not Bangladeshi:D. this habit of bangladeshi's never go away. Since they are short of worldwide famous people they claim indian bengali's as their own.

I second @bongbang and @Riyad on this.
Rabindranath Thakur is from undivided Bengal and both India and Bangladesh have equal shares there.

India and East pakistan Oh sorry Bangladesh BHAI BHAI ! LOL

ISI was a big threat when they controlled the jihadi nuts...now they have lost control of them, so it is mostly a toothless animal now. The jihadis unfortunately have become more organized, linked up globally and openly raising funds and troops in Pakistan. That is the bigger threat to peace.LeT, JuD et al, AQ, Daesh, Bokoharam....

Pakistan is pretty much out of control in terms of its inability to prevent recruitment by these terror groups. Afghanistan is trying with Americana and Indian help but cannot succeed until Pakistan does a better job; BD and Myanmar are especially vulnerable.

But the most crucial assistance came from Indian Intel. India was responsible for SM's security. For the duration of the coup op, Indian security was withdrawn.

I read major Dalim's testimony. He shed light on how they planned SM's assassination. He said it in details why they planned it on 15 August. Since Indian intelligence and gov will be busy on their independence day. All BD national leaders will be in Dhaka to attend meeting in DU. And Rokhi Bahini director and deputy director will be out of country. They planned it on that day to quickly topple gov with minimal power. Their agenda was clearly written to remove BD, from Indo-Rush expansion of influence. Which is suspicious, when Indian gov welcomed the new military backed gov after SM's assassination. But it nullifies when India supported Kader Siddik's rebellion on border areas against the new gov. The area gone out of control for brief amount of time, BD troops failed to enter there in several attempts. India also started backing Shanti Bahini in response. Also I read that India didnt want to risk another exodus of refugees by getting involved in anymore turmoil in BD.

Hey, Rabindranath Tagore is as much Bangladeshi as much he is Indian. He may have lived few years in West Bengal but his house was in East Bengal, now Bangladesh. His house is still here in Bangladesh. He lived half of his life in East Bengal. His ancestors were all from East Bengal who migrated to West Bengal. So Bangladesh has more right to claim Rabindranath is more Bangladeshi than Indian. There was no Bangladesh during his time but there was East Bengal. So he is 'technically' Bangladeshi.

A Pirali Brahmin from Calcutta with ancestral gentry roots in Jessore, Bangladesh.

Women who married into Tagore's clan were generally from the villages of East Bengal (now Bangladesh).

Rabindranath Tagore was born in 1861. He belonged to a remarkable family. They traced their connection as far back to the end of the seventeenth century with the area now occupied by Calcutta, India. Their ancestors migrated from the district of Jessore in Eastern Bengal to the village of Gobindapore on the River Hooghly where Fort William of Calcutta was later built.

Rabindranath Tagore and His Contemporary Relevance -- An Essay by Uma Das Gupta and Anandarup Ray (Parabaas Tagore Section)

1. When Bengali Muslims under the patronage of the Nawab of Dhaka put up the proposal to establish Dac Unv, the Hindus were on war path against this. They began taking out street processions with Tagore in the front - among other things. However, the Gov of Bengal was convinced and sent the papers to the Viceroy with positive note. The Hindus then sent delegations after delegations to Delhi under Tagore to plead the Hindu case. In all in those days of traveling limited to trains only, this old man had made 17 visits to the Viceroy who finally gave a note in favor of the Hindus.
2. The Hindu position was simple. The bulk of them, including Tagore, were zamindars/landed aristocrats. All their serfs/subjects were Muslims. If they got educated who would till the zaminadar's land? In all his works Tagore always referred to the Muslims in deragotary terms like Jabon, Melechha, etc. He has not written a single kind word for the Muslims.
3. When the file arrived in London, the Colonial Office turned down the Viceroy's recommendation and approved the establishment of Dhaka Unv which has played such a pivotal role in the emancipation of the Bengali Muslim.
4. Btw, Tagore was not a Hindu. The family of Darokanath Thakur had left the Hindu faith and adopted the Brahmo Samaj of Raja Ram Mohan Roy. That is why even till today wedding of Tagore children becomes a hassle.

Indians always erase our rep Khandoker from this photo to show this as an Indian victory. We fought for nine months and these guys came over for walk over of only thirteen days. Except in few occasions Indians never had to fire their gun. It was our liberation. It was our victory. Indians had allied themselves for their own anti-Muslim heinous agenda.

Yours one is blind hatred and one sided perception put together against Hindus when Pakistanis were spreading hatred against all to create a country for themselves in the west. Notably Dhaka Nawab family was also from Kashmir. Hindus were dominating in all economic and education sectors in Dhaka. If Dhaka university was established they had no problems to make inroads in there too. Many first professors and top graduates of DU too were Hindus. On the other hand Muslims needed more secondary schools and colleges. They could still study in Kolkata university. They were really small numbers and not interested in higher education. Hindus opposed Dhaka university due to budget cut by central gov for Kolkata university. Similarly during colonial period Hindus and Muslims donated in construction of Dhaka structures, nothing by the the British gov. Hindus such as Prince of Bhawal, Raja rai bahadur, Kali narayan rai, mohini mohan das etc

Also after establishment of DU Tagore visited it within 5 years and were welcomed by all. Your allegations are mixed with propaganda where he criticized Hindus too in several occasions. Tagore left Swadeshi movement in 1907. Your words are selective also but denied the facts what he did for religious harmony and unity. Tagore opened Arabic, Urdu, Parsian and Islamic study center in vishva bharati. His writing appeasing a Muslim brave man Habir khan in Kamala, in majhi novel he showed empathy toward a Muslim boatman, he showed high regard of a Muslim in Kabuliwala, he had high regard for prophet Muhammad, he established high school, bank, industry in patisar naogaon too where people were Muslims, the list goes on.

In a lecture at Oxford in 1930, Tagore acknowledged that he didnot come from a typical Hindu family and that his sensibility was created by ―a confluence of three cultures, Hindu, Mohammedan and British

Message of unity is also voiced in Tagore‘s poem Bharat Tirtha or The Indian Pilgrimage

Here Aryans, non-Aryans, Dravidians, Chinese Sakas, Hunas, Pathans, Moguls in one body, lo, were united. The doors today have opened in the West, bearing gifts, behold, they arrive

All shall give and take, mingle and be mingled in, none shall departdejectedFrom the shore of the sea of Bharata's Great Humanity!Come, O Aryans, come, non-Aryans, Hindus and Mussulmans

Come today, O Englishmen, come, oh come, Christians!Come, O Brahmin, cleansing your mindJoin hands with all

Come, O Downtrodden, let the burdenOf every insult be forever dispelled.Make haste and come to Mother's coronation, the vessel auspiciousIs yet to be filledWith the sacred water sanctified by the touch of allBy the shore of the sea of Bharata's Great Humanity!

Tagore‘s biographer s Dutta and Robinson suggest that ―Tagore had little intellectual contact with Islam and educated Muslims. So he had not much writings on Muslims characters. He had high regard for Kazi Nazrul, Muslim poets Hafiz, Kabir, Sayed.

And their ideology was Hindu extremism. They aimed to oust the British to establish a Brahmin Raj.
