What's new

Pakistan conducts succesful test-fire of Hatf-VIII Ra'ad ALCM

Video in today's PTV news clip:

Is it the new one? :undecided:
Have a Close look between 0.39 to 0.47 ,and Again 0.54 to 0.59. This missile does up and down, up and down.. Looks like it has manual control or signals for automatic control, to maintain this low flying missile and altitude above the ground.
This is great technology.
I heard that only two countries have this technology of terrain hugging missile. U.S.A and Pak.
Missile speed is not much fast but a stealth missile with terrain hugging to avoid radar

Looks like our engineers are still experimenting with the toys and trying to growup....they need to growup quickly and make some difference. Don't need to play with the same toys over and over again......:smokin:

if true about terrian hugging then haters gonna hate. It prove ho advance tech we have in missile.

It seems to me that PAF is more interested in missiles for deep striking capability than buying expensive aircrafts. jf-17 is being
acquired in large number so it can be the backbone of PAF and f16 and J-10 can be to front line aircraft. And missiles such as Babur and Raad can be used to strike deep within enemy territory. No wonder why pakistan is is working on improving the current designs and performance of these missiles rather than developing long range missiles.

Bro there is always more room for knowledge. Nothing is perfect and can always be improved. these missiles are amazing to start with and deployed but engineers never stop working on improvements.

this time defense forces make fool the media
every channel was reporting that pakistan will fire babur missiles
but they fire raad

Looks like RAAD will be controlled via airborne AWACS,and can now change target mid flight....
Pakistan has netcentric warfare capabilities but lack of satellite makes it limited in Range not capability..
May be thats why Pakistan is currently insisting on short/Medium range missiles.

Here is a video originally posted by PDF member Rafi...talks a bit about Pakistan's airborne netcentric capability and reveals that SAAB eerie eye was modified according to PAF requirements, and took 3 years to comply to PAF requirements...There must be certain gizmos integrated which arent there in a standard model..

About Pakistan's netcentric capabilities a discussion posted here..

he he he
Where they said Ra'ad??
News paper reported cruise missiles in next week.
Cruise missiles:azn:

hope soon we will hear "raad fire's from jf-17 thunder"
turkay is producing same type of cruise missile SOM (missile)
which they fired from f-16s
because they have source code of f-16s
it is better for us that both countries share their experiences with each other like European nations

The US would never allow sharing of such information. Turkey is a US ally, whereas Pakistan is not.

Yes, you can clearly see that it's a new version missile....looks sleeker and longer than the previous weapon.
@ Oscar, for the speed factor, i think it's being monitored from a chase aircraft most probably a twin seater Mirage.
In any case i believe it's subsonic cruise mode. ??
Yes this time Missile is longer than before but this time they didn't show the plane in the video why could they have increased the size of the missile

Hi Mr. Zarvan, maybe for increased range? Maybe a larger payload/warhead?
