No Indian players for SLPL - BCCI

india is making a big fuss , sri lanka should ignore it , ICC should take some action against these indians

there is a talk in the media that :
BCCI got the information on money involved ( nexus ) in SLPL during IPL itself , the lankan sports minister taking directions from pakistan then jumped into the ring and called the withdrawal of lankan players and try to negotiate on getting the indian players NOC onspot in the exchange of keeping lankan players in the IPL , but when BCCI gone tough and shown the written contrect and clearly said to SLC that in case of breaking written contrect the SLC will loose the IPL payment , SLC goes backfoot....
according to one of the news channal , the person who called the lankan sports minister was non other then PCB chairman izzaz butt..

a) Don't believe everything the media tells you
b) Why would the Lankan sports minister take money from Pakistan? For what exactly? Are you implying that Pakistani money is involved n SLPL, and if so, so what? I bet half the people here don't know who owns Rajasthan Royals, but that doesn't deter the BCCI. And if you're saying that illegal/black money is involved in SLPL, where's the proof?
c) the SL ministry wanted SL players to arrive early on international tour, to perform their international duty. I don't see what's wrong with that. If SL player can play in IPL, why should Indian players be barred from playing in SLPL?
d) SLCB doesn't get a dime from the IPL. All the money goes to BCCI. Get your facts straight.

broadcaster ESPN withdrawing support for the tournament

Sri Lanka Cricket will push ahead with its inaugural premier league with Australian and Pakistani players, despite a no-show by Indian stars, the island's sports minister said Sunday.
"We will lose a bit of money because Indian players are not coming but the tournament will be played as planned," Mahindananda Aluthgamage said after failed talks to bring the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) on board.
Fast bowlers Praveen Kumar and Munaf Patel were among 12 Indian players who were blocked by the BCCI from playing in the T20 tournament in Sri Lanka from July 19 to August 4.
The minister said the Indian board's reluctance stemmed from media reports that the event was being organised by a Singapore-based company with alleged links to Lalit Modi, the sacked former boss of the Indian Premier League.
"Mr Modi is not involved in our tournament. But we have to accept India's decision. We remain friends with India," Aluthgamage said.
The London-based Modi faces criminal charges, including false accounting, and accusations by the BCCI that more than $106 million was misappropriated during his three-year tenure as IPL chairman.
The Singapore-based Somerset Entertainment Ventures, who won the marketing rights for five years, has already paid an advance of $300,000 to Sri Lanka Cricket, the local Sunday Times newspaper reported.
It said India's reluctance had led to broadcaster ESPN withdrawing support for the tournament, which will feature seven teams and will include a mix of local and international players.
The newspaper said top Sri Lanka Cricket officials met Somerset chairman Sandeep M. Bhammer and chief executive Kunal Bhargava on Friday for talks, but details of the discussion remained unclear.

every country boards gets 10% of their players payment as commision in IPL ,...

I think BCCI has got their fects straight and didn't like to get invoilved init , on the same line they are not playing in Sharjaha any more...

These events are commercial events organised with private business parties. ICC is not involved here, respective boards can take decisions simliar to what SL board did while recalling players from IPL early for England tour.

I think it's time BCCI should take some action against ICC. :taz: after all BCCI is stronger than ICC.

Because the players and the board (Sri Lanka) signed a legal contract with the franchisees and the BCCI respectively to be present in IPL till May 21.

Why should the franchisees and the BCCI tolerate a breach of contract on the part of the Sri Lankan board ?

good dude, at least you are honest unlike others :)

it's a world known fact....

During australia last tour after monkey gate episode... CA was on his knees against BCCI....

A India australia tour generates 6 times more money than Ashes...

They are now acting arrogantly beyond limit...

Do not have any test match against BD till 2020 in India is shameful
