No decision yet on 26/11 terrorists' bodies

Mumbai: The Maharashtra government today said it is not in a position to take decision over disposal of the bodies of nine Pakistan-based LeT terrorists killed during 26/11 Mumbai attack.

"The matter is sub judice and we cannot take any decision on disposal of the bodies," Additional Chief Secretary (Home) Chandra Iyengar told PTI here.

The bodies are lying in J J Hospital mortuary, since they were brought there for autopsy, for almost a year after Muslim organisations here decided that cemeteries in the metropolis will not open its doors for the last rites of these militants.

Maharashtra Home Minister Jayant Patil had earlier said that Pakistan had agreed to accept the bodies of four of the nine terrorists. However, Pakistan refuted his claim.

Why cant pakistan accept their own people's dead bodies atleast allow them a burial.
Its the same thing GOP has done regarding kargil insurgents. They only accepted few bodies, others were buried by Indian army.

Yes. Coz Dead Bodies that we have are a reservoir of DNA Samples.
Plus "Kasab" who has been Accepeted as a Pak National by GoP, seems to Originate fro Pakistan.

Pakistan did not even accept Northern Light Infantry soldiers dead bodies as theirs. What kind of a pathetic govt. is it, it could not even honour their soldiers.

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan on Monday accepted that four out of nine terrorists who carried out the Mumbai terror attacks, were its nationals, Times Nowreported.

Maharashtra government has now urged Pakistan to accept the bodies of the terrorists, currently lying at a Mumbai morgue.

Pakistan had earlier refused to accept that 26/11 perpetrators were its nationals and had not agreed to accept their bodies.

Few days back, in a "major breakthrough" in its probe into the Mumbai terror attacks, Pakistan had arrested a key suspect with links to the outlawed LeT for allegedly facilitating 26/11 strikes.

The Special Investigation Unit (SIU) of the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA), which is spearheading Pakistan's probe into the Mumbai incident, arrested Jamil Ahmed on the basis of information provided by other suspects.

Sources in the FIA described Ahmed, a resident of Battagram in the unruly North West Frontier Province, as an "important suspect allegedly linked with" the LeT, the Daily Times newspaper reported.

Ahmed was arrested following the interrogation of five LeT operatives - operations commander Zakiur Rehman Lakhvi, Abu Al-Qama, Zarar Shah, Shahid Jamil Riaz and Hamad Amin Sadiq- - arrested earlier by the FIA. These five men are being tried by an anti-terror court in connection with the Mumbai attacks.

"The suspects revealed the name of another suspect, Jamil Ahmed, of Battagram during interrogation. Ahmed also allegedly facilitated the acts of terrorism in Mumbai on November 26," a source was quoted as saying by the newspaper.

I guess You will Not Mind Taking back the Bodies which has been accepted to be pak Nationals.

Here the Mumbai attackers are not our soldiers neither they acted upon advice or permission of Govt of Pakistan hence no room for accepting bodies of such people who have brought bad name for our country acting on their own "if at all they are Pakistanis".
