What's new

Nirbhay Cruise Missile test failed.

That is all correct.. but the stated max range depends on maximizing the fuel fraction..

Right. But the enhancement in propulsion system, use of composite, etc is an ongoing process. The first test is on a basic propulsion system. Once the missile clears all the basic parameters then only you can further instal more complicated and costly equipments on it.

India's cruise missile Nirbhay's maiden test fails..
Nirbhay's debris was found on land in Odisha's Jagatsinghpur district by villagers.

If you are expecting a failure to be given as the deviation of flight path.. or explosion on the stand.. those never happened.

In Babur for eg.. the initial missile test fired was soo simple in its guidance.. that it might have been called a RC aircraft with a jet engine and a 3 axis autopilot.. And that was that.
It simply depends on the R&D policy..
do you take a huge plunge.. or do you take a dip and declare yourself all ready..
Pakistan does the latter.. many "operational" declarations have been with half ready systems.
So that a "statement" is made first before the actual deal.

It has an advantage of keeping failures lower.. and giving a false impression that Pakistan is capable.
you mean " success/ operational declaration is made before the actual final test with all those half systems integrated ?
there were reports in local pak media about the failure of missile test despite the official announcement of success.

i have a question to indian members How come your development Group of technology does not take Baby steps i.e Loitering, long range capability, etc, when every other nation when they develop they take baby steps, i think the fault lies in putting too much too soon and you forget about details of the system that really matters and needed to be kinked out before, wont you agree

"thank you come again"

it carries more payload than babur but it is shorter in length than babur.

How on earth is it possible ? Do you think other countries that increase length / size of CM to increase range and payload capacity, are Dumb A$$es. Get a Technical life.

Babur is 6.25 m in length and nirbhay is 6m.
both have similar diameter.

Actually if we compare Babur's dimensions in wiki's with the official one of Nirbhay.
Nirbhay's smaller by just a bit:

Babur- Length 6.25 m without booster
Diameter 0.52 m

Nirbhay- Length 6.03 m without booster
Diameter 0.52 m

How Nirbhay's measurments are Officils ? any source

Sir ji its a trivial matter for DRDO who is involved with successful PSLV, ICBM. To doubt that they did not provision the fuel fraction culculus here would have been a grave error beyond mercy.

if range and weight : thrust ratio can be increased by using composite and better fuel fraction and ingestion system by 10% they will do it without increasing the size. And if babur is only shorter to Nirbhay by 0.25 meters or lets say one whole meter. then above mentioned parameters might have been used.

Please don't quote Wiki .... Bring Official claims of Nirbhay.

What makes you think its not possible?
Tomahawk is 5.56 meters long & has a range greater than Babur or Nirbhay so???? As @Oscar said
......range also depends upon the efficiency of the turbojet, fuel fraction.. and warhead size.

And please use your eyes when you're reading a post you wanna reply to, the specs on Nirbhay are the official ones.
