What's new

Made in UAE first Middle-east super car:Lykan Hypersport

it's attractive no doubt, seems to be inspired by lamborghini reventon/aventador. but they give you a choice whether you want emerald, ruby, diamond, etc. in the headlights  clearly the oil sheikhs have outdone themselves this time, only 7 or 8 are going to be made. can't imagine the abyssmal mileage it would get.

we should be focusing on highly efficient cars, especially hydrogen or pure electric ones with no emissions. that is the future and we'll have to come around to it eventually as other types are not sustainable.

personally, i like the reva e2o which is made indigenously in south asia :smitten: it will be available in uk/europe next year if all goes well, probably at around 10-12 thousand quid. does around 100km per charge too! which only takes few hours. i see it giving the leaf and smart a run for their money, especially in the affordability department

see this beautiful ad they made for it, very thought provoking

they've got a knack for good ads, here is an earlier one of theirs

its grandfather from a decade ago was pretty popular amongst the eco-lovers in london. they ended up selling thousands of them worldwide, but it was quite cramped and unreliable, too low mileage on full charge, and not very safe. hope its successor is much better.

Why would you buy the "First" anything?

A "First Arabian Supercar" that costs as much as a couple Porsches/ Lamborghinis? Obviously price is not a concern for the "Sheikhs".

The:

Frame is Lamborghini
Engine is Porsche
Seatbelts probably from Sweden
Headlights from Lamborghini
Gems/Rubies from Africa most likely
Cyrus Klepcys Watch from the Swiss

The only thing "Arab" is the warehouse its assembled in.

Not to mention the perception. The UAE is not exactly known for its auto prowess.

If they assemble it by themselves not foreign engineer.......:smokin:
the only thing that they do is financing this project and land where it will be assembled not any thing more........

More interested in the holo projector .. Thats the only thing that seems to be a first of anything .. Could not see it in any pictures. Everything else just made to look expensive. Breaking down the value of this car will not exceed 1.5m at most (insane). I guess they are charging the other 1.5m not to make more than 7 of those cars and watches.

This thing has the performance of a 400K Lambo Aventador and about as much prestige as a Honda Civic, except the latter is actually for smart consumers
