Dear all,

Apart from Shaheen VIII, a large scale multinational exercise is to be held inside Pakistan later this year.

Confirmed participants include;

PAF - All Assets
TuAF - F-16 Block 52s/E-3/KC-135/C-130
RSAF - F-15S's/SA's, C-130s

Expected participants;

EAF - F-16 Block 52s, Rafales (expected)
RAF - Eurofighter Typhoons. (expected)

Atleast 10 other participants as observers.

Observers: Take notes, possible future participants if invited and are interested in it. Perhaps provide feedback. Similar to when Pak had an Observer status in SCO before becoming full member.

I know it will cost $ that Pak doesn't have much to spare, but PAF should look to build an Airbase like the "Air Station Miramar, San Diego" Top Gun School near Pasni. It will likely help build up that area as well as Civilians Structure would be needed to support the base, it will also diversify and provide an alternate to one based in Northern Punjab. Base like that could be used to Train both A2A, A2G and Anti-Surface.

These exercises do not happen all the time so it would be a great cost in the longer run. But Pasni would be easy to access from MENA. Depriving Pakistan from the necessary flight/airspace fee's currently collected from overflights.

However Mianwali is another base which could serve the purpose. It is huge and already has the security apparatus to support the base.

I thought or read somewhere that "FAA of Pak, or its equivalent" is not collecting airspace fees used by Foreign airlines or was that a false news ?

PS: I am not talking about overhead or land usage by US forces en-route to Afghanistan.

What is the role of Observers in excercises?
India is invited to taste the tea as an observer of our catering core

Fighter Village is Sargodha. Pakistan nor PAF have the landmass and resources for a Fightertown which itself has moved from Miramar long time ago to Fallon. Miramar has been given back to the Marines.

PAF have already developed this, at Sarghoda there is Air Power Centre of Exellence created just for this. PAF have already invested a lot and learnt from Red Flag and Anatolian Eagle.

Combat Commanders School is there, aggressor squadrons with JF-17s and F-16s are there and we purchased ACMI range and instruments from Turkey a few years back. PAF has been conducting such exercises internally and in past Saudi and Turkey joined multinational exercise. This is first time so many countries have been invited

27th Feb also taught us few more lessons & areas to work upon. Beside the interest of other parties due to PAF success; we do have a lot to improve as we found out thus, more exercises in different battlefield domains.

Mianwali is huge? Are you kidding me ? It barely supports 3 squadrons and half of FCU had to be shifted to Risalpur just because base couldn't accommodate 4 squadrons,not forgetting SHOOTERS isnt even a proper squadron as compared to No. 18 and 20.

Can't a new base be built in the vastness of Balochistan or can't Samungli be expanded? A base bit far from the Indian border for exercises and test aircraft. Basically our version of Edwards

Kamra is our version of Edwards (testing and development), Sarghoda can be said to be our version of Nellis (tactics development and large scale exercises).

Problem is that all the current bases used for executrices are either dedicated to A2A and or A2G, none are close to water with emphasis to A2-Surface. Kamra, Sarghoda are to close to the International Boarder. Not that San Diego wasn't a booming town, however "Top Gun" School had a good impact on its economy and development of the community, same could happen to coastal base in Baluchistan if properly designed and executed.

PAF run Hospitals, Schools, for PAF staff and Locals, Shopping malls, commuter flights to Karachi or Quetta for shopping or weekend visits, lots of Growth potential.
