Kashmiri children forced to chant "Pakistan Murdabad"

Am I the only one who believes letting go of Kashmir will actually help India and its economics in the long run more, rather than keeping the land? Unless an Indian genius can explain what exactly the benefits of Kashmir is to them? :/

Nope, it will break India, all together.

India is union of people of half a dozen different religions, about thirty or so different languages and hundreds of different ethnicities.

Even if one state is allowed to break away, because people there believe, they are different from rest of the country, then the whole idea of India as nation crumbles

Pakistan was created on the basis of two nation theory, that Hindus and Muslims can not live together in the same country.

Where as India was founded on the basis of secularism, all human beings irrespective of their religion are equal .

Where as other 180 million muslims in India , coexist peacefully with Hindus. Some how half a million Muslims from the valley can not.

One of the strongest secessionist movement in India was in Punjab, after it was crushed in 80s, Punjab has become one of the most prosperous state in India.

An Indian defeat in Kashmir will also rekindle other secessionist movements on the brink of death elsewhere in India.

Thanks for the clarification. But unlike those 180 million Muslims, the Kashmiris clearly feel different about India. Your soldiers have been there for decades. This only brewed more fear and insecurities. And so many decades down, what difference has been made to Kashmir's state? Exactly, nothing. More and more Azad Kashmiris identify themselves as Pakistanis: not because they were forced, but because they WERENT forced. Why can't concept of another Azad Kashmir be applied to Indian Kashmiris?

For 5 decades, Kashmir was one of the most peaceful states in India, so much so that Kashmiris themselves apprehended and handed over Pakistani commandos, who had crossed over the LOC , to instill a rebellion in Kashmir.

Suddenly in end of 80s, as Punjab insurgency was on it death bed, as Soviet union defeated by Mujahideen was withdrawing from Afghanistan, there was huge upsurge in cross border infiltration, coupled with massive communal attacks against minorities, forcing three hundred thousand Kashmiri Pandits to flee the valley.

As India was on the brink on loosing Kashmir.

India was forced to send in the army in quell the insurgency.

India army has been in Kashmir since since 90s, the difference it has made, militants who once numbered over fifty thousand, have been reduced to double digits, not due lack of effort from militants or their sponsors.

Tomorrow if militancy/terrorism were to completely die down , India will remove its army from Kashmir completely.
Only borders will be manned by BSF.

But why am I explaining this to you, you yourself are a Pakistani or Pakistani origin, you already know these things.

Its clear evidence of how much brutality the Indian occupation forces are commuting against the Kashmiri people for decades . unfortunately international community is mum as they are muslim . if they were nonmuslim and this torture were committed by any Muslim country all so called human rifgts organization would jump on condemning the act .
