JSQM joins call for Sindh independence

I agree with the "Two nation theory has become void with Bengal secession" part though...

Not really. When the 2 nation theory was coined, Allama Iqbal stressed on the "northern most five units with Muslim majority" to unite and form a separate nation. These units were NWFP, Punjab, Sindh, Kashmir and Balochistan.

When Choudhry Rahmat Ali coined the name for this new country, he kept in mind the "northern most five units with Muslim majority" that Allama Iqbal mentioned and thus came up with the name PAKSTAN.

No where in this is Bengal even mentioned, they were never meant to be part of us.
The only reason the Quaid even took them on board was because they really wanted a separate homeland aswell, and the British wouldn't allow a third nation to form, especially given Bengal didn't even have any strong leadership at the time.

Hence coming to the real answer....no, the 2 nation theory hasn't failed, all the original units which were meant to form part of Pakistan as still with us (except for Indian Occupied Kashmir).

even your media is funded by India...your whole system has been compromised
Funded by India? Yea! Sure, But Looks like there are more greater Game players are involved.. India won't have ability to do it alone ,This nation is just used as pawn as they were used by world powers in past.. How can we forget that the large number of Indian soldiers died during it British colenial Era...But Its a different Chapter.. I'm amused by JSQM, They were so quiet in recent years and short of money too, and Rally in Karachi is still Impossible for them until unless Government or Local Political forces don't allow them to do.. Lots of Questions are there? Where they got that much money so sudden? who allowed them to do a Rally in Karachi? Wat was reason for killing that 13 year kid who died From the firing of few JSQM coward terrorist? and Why a minority Secterian Group is creating again an ethinic disturbance? Curse You Iranis..:hitwall:

sounds like a case of sour grapes to me really.. Never heard a single voice on these lines before 1971 ;)

Would you like to back your statement with some reasoning / verification or is it because you say so ;) ?

All that violence in 80's and the death of a PM is a testimony to it.;)

If you didn't hear it doesn't mean it it didn't happen.:)

For the sake of audience herein, would you care to explain how has it become invalid ?

Muslims are one single nation/culture and are different from Hindus...well even Muslims couldnt live with Muslims...that officially compromised the TNT...or atleast the major part of that reasoning.

Hey don't get me wrongly that I want a United India...it can happen only over my dead body and I want Pak and BD to stay away from India..just saying that TNT no longer exists as Jinnah envisioned.

On the contrary if the Two Nation Theory implied that you can abuse, mistreat and even, allegedly, kill your own brethren and they'd still stick with you...then yes..the TNT, as you abbreviated it, really did blow up in our faces resoundingly. However, the TNT was anything but that; it was an expression of us, Muslims, that Islam is a lot more than just praying 5 times a day and that, it has an opinion on everything from social interactions to standards of propriety, from economics to jurisprudence etc. and that Muslims, should, accordingly be given the space to express themselves with respect to all of the above.

Islam enjoins us to pray, to fast, to give alms etc. but it also talks about evolving a system of Finance wherein Rib'ah is taken out of the equation, where laws are made in the light of our own traditions on jurisprudence and where propriety is differentiated from impropriety in the light of our collective consciousness or in other words Islam. And that right to express ourselves in a manner, we see, consistent with our socio-political-economic and legal belief system or Islam as we call it...was what the Two Nation Theory was all about !

One of the raison d'etre of Pakistan was the right to express ourselves; the others were the very visible fault lines that existed between the Hindus and the Muslims and the growing fear that Muslim polity would be stifled in a Westminster style democracy without any constitutional guarantees for the Muslims. And all of them combined led to the Struggle for Independence.

As for Bangladesh...if I'm not mistaken even in the latter stages of Mujib's Govt. he had started showing some acceptance for Islam as BD's dominant culture and, again if I'm not mistaken, during Zia's tenure this was accepted explicitly so. Hence the expression part of it was incorporated.

Furthermore, the Two Nation Theory is hardly confined to the Indian Subcontinent alone...Muslims in Bosnia, Kosovo, Chechneya (Forgive the Spellings) etc. were butchered just because they were Muslims and were, consequently, made pariahs by being declared 'the Others' even though they, by every definition, belonged to the same stock as the Serbs, the Croats and were, by Orthodox standards, as Islamic as George Carlin. So, my friend, this distinction has been there and we saw its ugly side in Bosnia where an imposed TNT led to a lot of bloodshed and we saw the good side of it in BD where the right to express didn't come at the expense of exclusivity with respect to other Non-Muslims citizens of the state.

P.S Israel, ironically, is another prime example of the TNT because they carved out a nation for themselves on the basis of religion and got national cohesion in spite of very diverse ethnic and linguistic backgrounds.

P.P.S If you ask me, the Pakistan of today is not Jinnah's Pakistan and a practical application, for a plethora of reasons, of the TNT in Pakistan remains very much elusive.

When your brain comes out of hibernation, would you please spare a thought to why would a purported traitor-ing group want to identify its alleged seceded fiefdom by Mr. Jinah's name? Thank you.

Till the time it does, please don't try to think beyond 'I'm hungry' or 'we won the finals' kind of subjects! Thank you again.

you're wrong. you tried getting Junagarh and Hyderabad too which by the way does not fit in your alphabetcal theory of the word PAKISTAN. but yeah, its a good thing to convince yourself of not losing Bangal though.

you seriously should avoid being in denial. may be its one of the reasons why this Sindh issue or this very thread exists.

Oh my God! What ignorance!

Bengal was the birthplace of All India Muslim League. It was the first place in the subcontinent where the thought of a MUSLIM STATE arose.

Pakistan was infact created by muslim votes in Bengal and Utter Perdesh and you are telling us that the TWO-NATION THEORY hasn't failed.
-------------------
And your argument proves ONE THING. The Punjabi Mindset was even working back then. No wonder begalese were mistreated untill they broke away in 1971.
-----------------------------------

Instead of feeling ashamed of our racist attitude, we are still putting forward these lame arguments that Bengal was not the part of the PAKISTAN MOVEMENT.

It's an insult to our motherland and our forefathers to even come up with this argument. It's time we swallow OUR FALSE PRIDE and accept our mistakes.

JSQM is a joke, living in interior Sindh, I would know.

because as the name suggests- the two nation theory was supposed to be 2 nations and not 3 nations - which has become reality after 71.
baluchistan is already fighting for a new state and now this sindhu desh has come into the picture. may be we have to call it a 4-5 nation theory in couple of decades.
i think india will not and should support any separatists in your country.
may you take care of these bunch of people asking for separation.

Don't be silly
Two nation theory clearly is based on 2 nations because of two religions.
There are still Muslims countries and non muslims countries.

I know people will continue to blame RAW/CIA/MOSSAD etc. but when a stupid racist mindset controls the state, one cannot blame such successionist movements.

I live in Lahore and have extensively visited the entire province, even the remote towns and villages. The problem lies in the URBAN MIDDLE and UPPER CLASS of Punjab. They think that the entire country lies along the M-2 or G.T. Road from Lahore to Rawalpindi/Islamabad.

Unfortunately, these urban centres of Central Punjab have a stinking condescending attitude about all other ethnicities. The racism IS NOT OVERT; you won't see punjabis abusing others but DEEP DOWN one can feel it.

I will quote just one example:
The constitution and military rules and regulations on paper say that recruitment of officers and men is to be done without consideration of ethnic background.
BUT
Recruitment centres were only located in Punjab. Only recently such centres have been setup in Baluchistan. What the hell!!!!!!!
So a guy living in Gwadar is supposed to travel 1000-1200 kms to apply!

Now that is some HIDDEN RACIST SUPREMACY. It isn't declared but implied.
