What's new

JF-17 Thunder Block-II replaces F-7P Skybolt of the Number 2 Minhas Squadron.

So is No. 2 staying at Minhas or are they moving to Masroor?

Rashid Minhas Shaheed belonged to No.2 Squadron hence squadron calls itself Minhas. PAF base Kamra was named after Rashid Minhas Shaheed as PAF base Minhas. So JF-17 comes to the unit of Rashid Minhas Shaheed? I'm waiting for official confirmation. @Windjammer ?

That also signifies that finally the support structure for JF-17 operations is ready at Masroor, which was the cause of the delay in the first place.

Marriage hall kay lye jaga allocate ki ho ge, hence the delay in constructing support structure there :P

No that was a mirage 5 Squadron no 8 Haiders tail no 435 aircraft ...

Pilot, his OC, His buddy names, His father brothers name also ? :P

And how much would that cost? You think you can spare some of the billions you might have lying around?
janab its cost 500mn$ and as we both know airbase may cost far less then this . they can do it in phase by phase .rather then losing expensive birds in hands of terrorists

PAF Base Minhas was named after Sir Rashid Minhas Shaheed but the Squadron to which Rashid Minhas originally belonged was No.2 and was stationed at Masroor. So that sqn was also renamed as Minhas Sqn but don't get confused with Sqn Minhas and Base Minhas, as Sqn No.2, Minhas is stationed at Masroor from beginning.

It costs $500 million to make the airbase, then another $500 million to move all the infrastructure, the equipment and the training costs to create landing patterns and have the pilots practice those.
