Japan's PM proposes sending SDF troops into NK in case of second Korean War

Japanese Prime Minister Kan Naoto proposed a new defense policy under which SDF troops would be dispatched into NK to rescue kidnapped Japanese citizens held in NK in cooperation with ROK government in the event of another war in Korea.

This is the first time Japanese government proposed sending SDF troops to fight a war on foreign soil, reflecting a major policy shift taking place in Japan.

It is a logical choice. If war happens.

Sending SDF to fight on foreign soil is against Japanese consituition. It will also bring back the old ghost of Japanese colonisation of Korea. I doubt they will be welcome by the South Koreans.

South Korea and Japan are American Allies they have been armed by US to counter China or Russia or North Korea or all of the above -


Similarly

Turkey, Israel are armed to counter Russia from venturing into Middle east

Similarly Saudia is there to help counter Iran

In in Days of old we used to be armed to counter India/Russian connection but that is old story now
