Well, you should also consider that Japan has only 1/10th of Chinas population if you are comparing GDP one on one.

yes, you are right, that GDP or PPP in USD are very narrow economic indications, dont mean much, worthless to emphasize on them.
when i say Japanese GDP was passed by China i mean that GDP in usd can not truely show the recently economy changes in China and Japane, twisted by exchange rates.

PCDI, PGDI are the same. if you want to compare one with the other in economy, you have to considre many more factors, but that is none of my business.

That's why China will be soon 4-5 times of Japan, since the Yen keeps tumbling and their economic growth is stagnated.

Without the FTA being signed with China, don't expect any major improvement for Japan's economy.

PPP can be considered to compare between two countries if in conditions in those two countires are more or less same otherwise Nominal GDP should e considered. In any case China's progress is Stupendous.

Congrats to China..

The growth of China is indeed a fascinating fact and a model to look up into.

If China starts behaving too like a responsible BIG nation, we as a neighbour would be more than happy to be on the same page and share the global policies and outlook for generations to come.
