For a totally new launch vehicle like GSLV Mk III ...3 years from first experimental flight is not bad .

although GSLV Mk III has been delayed by almost 4 years ....

the GSLV Mk III experimental flight was initially envisaged almost back in 2010 ...when it was first announced at the beginning on this millennium ...

RISAT-1A after 2017 ??? :hitwall:

Do they think 2 satellites are enough??

How many here believe the manned space launch by 2030 date?

What he meant was; how many here believe it'll take India another decade above their present schedule to realize the manned space launch?

I don't pay much attention to him because his job is to drop in every thread in the Indian sections and troll.

I don't. I personally consider it a waste of money.

Human space mission is important first step towards space exploration in 'future'.

We need to prepare for future in advance .

as technologies advance , the moon mining and colonization of mars may become reality after another hundred years . We should not be left behind when it happens .

India's entry will actually lead to decrease in cost of space exploration .

It should be viewed as investment in future than wastage of money .

we waste far larger quantum of our resources anyways .

Money spent on science is never wasted !

RISAT is one of the most sophisticated satellite ISRO has. It took ISRO 10 years to develop its payloads.
we do have two RISAT satellites functioning at the moment . I think 2017 is not bad after all given so many missions that ISRO has up its sleeves to work upon .

ISRO needs more launch pads , more launch vehicles , more launch missions , more man power ....and they are doing it gradually .
