What is current status of IRIAF and future...???
Islamic Republic of Iran Air Force - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

I think that they should buy some old- MiG-29s from Russia....

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_aircraft_of_the_Iranian_Air_Force

Althugh Russian could also sell them:

Which they have in large numbers...

you can laugh at it as much as you want.but still the fact is Iran is working on its own projects.i mean this is the only option.

due to UN sanctions,we can not import fighter jets even from China nor Russia.

in 2004-5 Iran ordered SU-30mkp and MIG-31 as well.but due to sanctions its canceled.interesting that both China and Russia agreed with the sanctions and did not veto it!

Sanctions against Iran are beneficial to both China and Russia and even our oil exporting neighbors. For one, China at the moment is keeping the Iran's money in its banks and is only willing to sell whatever product it wants to Iran. On the other hand sanctions against Iran keep the Western competitors out of Iran and pave the way for presence of Chinese companies.

Sanctions against Iran inadvertently increased the oil prices (Saudis have never really respected the OPEC's rules and regulations, so even though they have the capacity to offset Iran's production the oil prices would still be lower if Iran was also allowed to sell its oil), so neighboring countries like Iraq, Saudi Arabia, Qatar (which we share our gas fields with and has higher production share due to lack of investment because of sanctions).

Even Pakistan and India are among the benefactors, because trade balance with Pakistan and India is in Iran's favor and the money can't be transferred because of sanctions, so these countries will instead export us their products instead of paying with hard currency, the problem with this is that it greatly limit the Iran's ability to negotiate for higher quality products with lower prices!

Even if it was not because of sanctions we could not import any fighter jet as our parliament bannned such thing years ago

When Iran bought MiG-29s in the 90's, they weren't exactly happy with its performance, so thats no realistic option.

then why doesnt Iran sanction the Chinese and Russian companies when it has dont same with western companies over sanctions keeping in view that they hadnt veto the sanctions over her like the deal of mig 31s and su30s??

Russia and China are the only super powers we have still relation with.no option left but standing on our own feets.hopefully we can do it.

sorry to say
but it is true that iranian airforce donot have future
you even can't compare them with Ugandan Air Force

i know irans air force is not that strong but there are rumors people have seen su-30 in tabriz. even there was a report that said during the last war between iraq and us , american radars recognized 10 flying objects in iran s border guessed it could be su-30. non of these are reliable or trustworthy but iran is not that uninitiated in air force subject. also we proved we have good software capabilities . we can progress a lot in air force during the next decade.

Is Iran investing in a fighter program?
I remember seeing those F-5/F-18 hybrids, but are they working on a new fighter?

and please don't say qaher 313. That thing looks extremely small for a fighter...
