Iran-India to build gas pipeline through sea to save transit fee

im-insurance-grad05.jpg

No need to worry as pipeline will be fully insured for every losses + India have to pay less premium as it will be shared by Iran-Oman-India.

So full benefits and no worries. :yahoo:

Best thing is that Indian company Larsen & Toubro Limited can build this pipeline. :bounce: :bounce: :bounce:

For the record, here are some of the other records Larsen & Toubro have set:

The world's largest coal gasifier - supplied to China. :woot:
The world's first chrome-moly-vanadium multiwall ammonia convertor
India’s first indigenous hydrocracker reactor
Oil and gas platform projects executed to global benchmarks
The world’s largest continuous catalyst regeneration reactor :woot:
The simultaneous execution of clean fuel projects at eight refineries around India
The world’s longest product splitter – executed twice over :woot:
The world’s longest LPG pipeline :woot:
The world’s longest cross country conveyor
A world-class football stadium in 260 days

I will be very frank - India wasted Iran's time

India wasted Pakistan's time

Due to Indian delays the pipeline was delayed by 10 years !!!

You're wrong. You could still have pursued the plan to chase the pipeline of IPI without us once we backed down. You didn't want to because without us, the headache will be all for Iranians to manage the pipelines for you.

and Iran lost chance to earn almost 10-20billion from the revenues

Iran still gains a lot of money from this pipeline project that directly deals with us without having you getting a chance at it. Time has gone but money will still flow especially now since Iranians accept Turkish Lira as a tradable currency. This deal would make relations between Turkey and India warmer as well.

Taking a pipeline via International Route is not ideal for Pakistan , because it interferes with Natural Habitat for fish which Pakistani fisheries depend on to capture fish and bring revenue into Pakistan.

The only Ecologically Sensitive Zone (ESZ) in the Arabian Sea is the Lakshdweep and that is far away from the pipelines. How many sunken oil tankers have destroyed marine life before? Hundreds. This would be much more safer rather than the disaster that BP caused off-coast US and Mexico.

Its just common sense , that after BP oil disaster any such "careless" operations will be stopped by Military intervention

BP disaster was due to oil tanker not ultra-strong pressure capable pipelines. Tankers are vulnerable to sinkage and hence the disaster. This is not 100% foolproof but much more safer than tankers and your lot holding us for ransom of oil. Any military intervention will be considered an act of war and responded as per international laws. Simple as that.

Because once an accident occurs who will fix Pakistani Shores? Will India pay Pakistan 100 Billion to fix our shores ?

Refer to my Lakshadweep point above.

So , from Pakistan's stand point - its not allowed it attacks our sovereign right to project All Pakistani Oceans

What ocean are you talking about? The whole reason why this agreement came to being was because it was to avoid you and to do that, we involved Oman. There is only a small distance between your water and the pipelines but it is still not through your territory; which means that we have all the freedom to channel the oil pipelines when the other 2 consenting nations (Iran and Oman don't mind.

No one has right to pass a Bio Hazard , to ecosystems close to their land seas , fishes. We have to protect natural habitat

Having one of the most ecologically sensitive atolls nearby (northern Lakshadweep) nearby, I am sure the ministries of all three countries would have thought this well. This is a multi-national project, you know. People of 3 countries cannot be that foolish as not to know what is the difference between safety and disaster in a project.

There are other players too JSIW for example.

ummm did not know indian satellite can look under water; must be unique in the world!!!! If Indian navy busy based on your dream plan then this project will be best blessing for indian neighbors including Pakistan.

I don't think that the non-state actors are mermaids to dwell under the sea and deploy charges. His point of adding our Navy was that its heaviest presence is western command, do you really think that a bunch of Kasabs could stroll into the middle of the ocean and blow the pipelines? We have close to a 100 warships there of which even the smallest of covettes would blow these "actors" to kingdom come if they tried something funny.

Between Iran and India roughly 1635 NM how many AC will be needed for guarding the pipeline?
Real AC not the computer render.
Does indian AC goes underwater to guard pipeline?

Man, indian acts are damm amusing.

Fun aside, even if pipeline built, would untimate cost would justify?

The whole point of taking such an expensive project is that to bypass Pakistan as much as possible and keep the deal bi-lateral. So any cost that comes out of it is justifiable rather than having PN hold our country on energy ransom tomorrow incase hostility breaks.

Nothing is impossible for the so called 'Pakistani non-state actors'.You know what I mean.

But you're forgetting that if this was to happen (goodness forbid) it will firstly destroy Pakistani marine life. So the "non-state actors" will be careful to edit that part of their acting scripts.

yaar i don't understand here what is the problem? indian do whatever they like they need from sea land air pipeline we have no problem let them do it .:hitwall:

Every one is not clear minded as you sir..They come here to troll...

your side also not clear yaar .they messed up every thread .now look at comments they bring each and every sh1t in this non state actors safe then pakistan bla bla bla .cant they discuss on news simply or go off topic but nice way?its a pipe line of two nations and pakistan has nothing to do with it.these kids don't know many fiber optics and other lines go throw pakistan ? what abut air sea traffic of india go throw pakistan or pakistani sea? are we devils? or aliens from Jupiter? we are also human like you guys please stop it .

The environmental disasters are mainly caused by oil pipe line or oil tankers. I have not heard of a gas pipeline polluting the environment. Apart from IN, our security for thsi project lies in the fact that this pipeline is too deep as well as the fact this project includes many major players in ME.

True but you are also hostile to us and there is a high chance that you may use IPI pipeline as a leverage against India. So thanks but no thanks , we rather prefer the project to bypass Pakistan for good.

lolz you already bypass it ab to hamari jan choro mamoo .what left remain for bring pakistan in it ? its done now as your gov decide to take by sea thats mean no pakistani involvement in this project then why you great dudes bring pakistan in this thread?

Indian company Larsen & Toubro is already building many sub-sea (Under sea) pipelines in Gulf countries Like UAE, Qatar and even in Thailand. :bounce:

If many Gulf countries are awarding contracts to Larsen & Toubro then its a proof of Larsen & Toubro's quality :yahoo:

Business Line : Companies News : L&T bags overseas orders worth $889 m

PRESS RELEASE

Larsen & Toubro bagged Order from UAE & Thailand

Indian company wins three pipeline contracts — Pipelines International — The international pipeline magazine

Larsen & Toubro to build on overseas orders

As Veeru said, Larsen and Toubro can easily carry out this job.

I work as an engineer at L&T's Middle & Downstream Hydrocarbon IC, and though construction of this pipeline will come under the Upstream Division, I can say with utmost certainty that L&T has the technical capabilities and resources to construct this under-sea pipeline.

L&T is already one of the largest EPC contractors for offshore platforms and sub-sea systems in southern Asia. L&T has a huge presence in the Middle East and even operates a fabrication facility in Sohar, Oman.

L&T recently won a $160 million project from Petroleum Development Oman -

It has also secured $850+ million pipeline and other Upstream oil projects from UAE -

L&T already operates LTS 3000, a heavy-lift vessel for installation of offshore platform and pipeline -

From developing India's largest onshore oil projects in Mangala and Raageshwari, to building INS Arihant, L&T has already made massive contribution to building a prosperous India. To be frank, there is no other private institution in India which has played a more pivotal role in nation building than Larsen and Toubro.

Forbes magazine once labeled L&T as India's "real problem solver" --
